We sure did! Mordax and Shohashi and I had our little 2 cats and a mouse play.

I managed to keep them busy before I got so crippled that I was about to blow up.

For awhile I thought we had won, when Namotus told me he got the shuttle.

Anyway, great fun

Yes, I too had a lot of fun! Definately looking forward to the next one.

I could have sworn I took out Shingen first! And yes, Papi, you did good keeping Mordax and I busy!

For me, everything was going swimmingly. Prime Fleet was short-handed for its second match so we drafted Shingen as number three ... which turned out to be a fortuitous decision indeed. Advancing en masse on Gaulan, Shin accidentally dropped through a flux field and fell right in the lap of the enemy. Before succumbing to massive enemy fire, he managed to transmit an in-depth position report.

Namotus and I continued onward, adjusting our tactics to fit the newly updated, developing situation. The allotted half hour was quickly drawing to a close with neither side having achieved the primary objective. I, in the carrier for Prime Fleet, steadfastly maintained course ... until reaching Foron. Two jumps away from the target. Red blips everywhere on my scope. One escort (Nam) at the ready. The other escort (Shin) crashing to desktop in a frenzied effort to re-spawn.

Engines recharged. Jump gate to Castrin open. Quick check in the TRS for enemy positions. Back to NID ... targeting Castrin. Not much more than five minutes left before end game. No problem. Just enough time ... maybe even a minute of slack. Initiating jump ... to ... ??? ... Ralean? Ralean!

How'd that happen?

The rest is history. And not very pleasant history at that ... not for GalCom, anyway. Two minutes of hyperspace time shot down the drain. Then all that extra time to recharge the engines again. Finally, check, double check, and check again. Yup, yup, yup ... Castrin was now definitely set in every computer display I could find. Eyes closed. Jump executed. Eyes opened ... ahhhh, good ... heading for Castrin gate.

Finally heading in the proper direction, I checked the TRS and made note of the extraordinary fact that Chavik's cruiser was on the nose. "Nam," I said, "Stand by to jump to Castrin gate. We need to get past Chavik."

"I already jumped," came the reply.

Well, it was out of my hands, now. A cadet going up against a seasoned veteran. The odds were against the cadet. And I was less than halfway through my jump. As the old ditty goes, "The outlook wasn't brilliant."

Not long afterward, I was faced with the reality I'd be coming out of hyperdrive right smack in front of Chavik -- waiting with his guns aimed at me. And, by now, he could concentrate all his attention on my approaching megaron. Painful, that's what I expected it to be ... and Chavik didn't disappoint me. But, then, neither did the GCV-Asimov ... plowing through all those energy beams and emerging on the other side of the gate with shields in tact and only minor damage to hull ... armor ... and a few non-essential systems.

Calling up my scope, I saw it: the target. One fat red blip. One unsuspecting hostile shuttlecraft. Just one jump away. In less than four minutes, it would be a mort.

But that was about two minutes too long. Just before I could initiate that final, lethal jump, a deep baritone voice echoed above my head. It said, "Time's up."

P.S. I want to thank all the players who showed for this match. Even if the number did come to an unlucky thirteen.

The time stamp is for GMT+1 but it shows Sho's shuttled destroyed 51 seconds before Namotus got toasted.

Remo, could you please check what happened between Namotus's last jump and his demise?

Thats not the way its shown in the server log, I'll check it again though. If that is the case it changes who won the match.

I'll be putting the scores in the database shortly. I just got home from work.

I have to say DreadX was literally less than thirty seconds ahead of me. I've actually been studying the fluxlines in the MP map, and I'm wondering if it's possible to get from NZone to Gaulan in as little time as it takes to do the reverse.

No sour grapes mind you, I had a blast, but I know DreadX and I both started at the same time and were unopposed on our way to the opposing position. It's got me thinking about what might happen if the commanders for GALCOM started from Palean (as Gammulans in order to have access to the station position) since fluxlines one and two both have equally advantageous outlets from there.

Something to try perhaps, have a look at the map and see what you think.

After reviewing the log for match 1 again between Prime and the insurgents it indeeded does show the entry of the shuttle being destroyed with a time stamp 51 seconds before Resilients destroyed Namotus in Prime's Carrier. The match goes to team Prime who scored slightly higher with 80 ranking points to the Insurgents 70.

All of the above.

Match 1 I sat out. But as Sho and Dreadx put it after sitting out himself it was like being in some sort of operations rooms. Quite fun.

Match Two:

I was making a beeline for the enemy station when DennyMala and I met somewhere. I had just come out of jump and he had just popped through the gate. He was too tempting a target and my greed got me killed.

The rest is a blur. Hehe. But great fun.

Ok all stats have been added to your database profiles. Here is a quick run down you'll have to look in the database for other stats.

Ranking Position:

  1. Shingen - Score 108
  2. Mordax - Score 101
  3. Dreadx - Score 79
  4. Chavik - Score 56
  5. DennyMala - Score 51
  6. Papi - Score 28
    Namotus - Score 28

  7. ShoHashi - Score 23
    Dreada - Score 23
    Zane - Score 23

  8. Marvin - Score 0
    Reed - Score 0

Well thats everyone that was at the Meet check your profiles for the rest of your stats.

I'll be starting a couple polls for the fleet community soon to determine how everyone would like to proceed with fleet meets and tournaments.

It turns out you were 3 minutes and 15 seconds behind me, Zane.

Nzone -> Gaulan would take the same amount of jumps as Gaulan -> Nzone so I see no reason why it would take longer to go one way.

Flux-lines 1 and 2 ??

Standing in Gaulan, I would have 25% on 1 jump (to your shuttle), 25% on 3 jumps, 25% on 5 and 25% on 6 jumps.

Standing in Palean, You would have 25% on 1 jump (to my shuttle), 25% on 2 jumps, 25% on 4 jumps and 25% on 6 jumps.

You would be better off, not to mention the fact that Palean has two gammulan stations.

Maybe choose Tapestran for the Insurgents and not Gaulan.

I would like to suggest an Award For Gallantry to dreadx.

He pointed out that Prime's team won in the first match, even it meant a lost to his own team.

I understand that it might not be possible to Galcom cmdr to suggest it to Insurgent cmdr, but he deserves it!

I salute you dreadx

He did well by stating that, Papi. It just shows something about his integrity, which is a good thing. I won't complain because what is right, is right. My hat is off to you, Dreadx!

This is probably a reason that a copy of the log should be sent to the opposing side for scoring also in future matches. Sometimes it takes 2 sets of eyes to look for mistakes.

Agreed! All FC's will recieve a copy of the server log if their fleet is involved in a match in the future.

I'll also be posting the rules that were used for scoring a match so all logs get scored in the same manner with the same score sheet.

Thanks again Dreadx for pointing out my mistake it almost cost my team a victory. I guess what through me off is the shuttle entry was placed after the destruction of Namotus, but with a time stamp that was earlier.

The four posts above mean more to me than any medal could. Thx.

@Remo

From hosting a server myself and playing around with the server-logs (l5 just aint funny ). I got a good idea of how much data these logs contain and how much work it is to analyse them.

You put in so much effort for the match that you deserve a little help.

How'd I get so many points? I only remember taking out Sho and Reed.

I can't remember you took me out (I think it was Mordax), but I do remember crashing-to-desktop in a frenzied effort to re-spawn.

Is this training ROE gig gonna be Saturday or Sunday? I'm there either day!

Will discuss it in detail via teamspeak as Marvin said. In the time being I've typed out the ROE and sent it to Marvin for review and to fire it off to all fleet leaders for testing within their fleets or with other fleets.

I almost have and Idea worked out for a fleet match schedule where all fleets will get together to compete and then hold a tournament for the top 10 contenders throughout the season. The tournament winner will then be added to the players Hall of fame for all times, and his fleet takes the championship.

I'm going to put this to a vote the same as we did the time limit issues. If anyone would like to discuss this in detail before the poll begins now is the time to start another topic on the subject; Because once the polls close the fleet leaders will review the results and hand down their decision based on your polling answers.
