So...anyone complete mission 2? I'm a little lost on this one. I get to Neptune and...all hell seems to break loose. Then, more hell (lot's of fighters) then time seems to run out. Anyone have any tips on this mission?

wow, you're still on #2? It gets harder. :birthday:

There is no trick to it. Just follow your commander's instructions. In fact, you're not even supposed to be in Neptune until otherwise asked to go there. If you go there before you are told you, then you're making yourself a target.

As for the fighters showing up, well, uhm, just take them out? Even if time runs out, as long as you survive, there are no penalties other your not getting any medals, EPs etc.

I know, sad...still at #2! After many hours of practice, and diligently listening to orders, I was able to take everyone out, including the cap ship. But then, after the dust cleared, Echo 3 and 4 were dead in the water (err...space). Is there anyway I can fix these guys?

Also, I'm a little confused on whether I'm supposed to be able to give all of Echo squad orders. For example, on mission two, I can order Echo 2 and 3 (I think, I may have the numbers mixed). So, I ordered Echo 3 to escort Echo 2 (and Echo 2 to escort me Echo 00). As soon as I did that, I was unable to give further orders to Echo 3. The other two Echo wingmen never took orders from me.

Surprisingly, after a bit of practice, I no longer needed to use missiles on any fighter to take it down. So, I just save the missiles for the big ships.

All fighters will dock with Excalibur or Merlin to repair/rearm. Sometimes they may be too damaged to do it quickly, but it does happen. Jsut watch them at the end of every mission.

You can order all fighters in your wing, as long as you are (a) doing good (:P they don't out-rank you © they aren't already acting on orders from Excalibur or Merlin.

Yes, you're supposed to save your missiles for cap ships.

btw, make sure you're running the latest version because it puts your SSR display at the bottom of the cockpit, instead of it being buried in a VDD mode.
