A data file update is available. Just download and extract into your game folder overwriting files when prompted.

Does this mean my D2D version is out of date compared to the other versions? Or would the update button still function?

This maintenance release is not for the D2D version - and there is nothing important in it that your version needs. You can't use the data file maintainance patch either since the Direct2Drive version of this game uses a different DRM (TryMedia) encryption which is no longer used/supported.
