As the number of fans grow, perhaps it would be good to have a centralized are to do fleet recruitment. Here is my attempt.

<rp on>

Greetings Gentlemen,

For all of you looking for a glory hungry, political, money making unit... look elsewhere. To the rest, consider EarhCOM's OMEGA Battle Group.

We may not be pretty...

and our tactics may not be popular with the general military community...

"Absolutely, without hesitation I would kill a wounded enemy because the wounded enemy I let live today is the enemy that will kill me tomorrow." Unknown Omega Strike Specialist.

But we get the job done. So if you are willing to walk on 'the dark side of the force', join OMEGA. Enemy... behold thy last!

Gentlemen, be aware that all is not as it sounds. You will be joining a paper tiger. UFN has already pulled EARTHCOM's teeth. By joining, you too will be fitted for a set of dentures. EARTHCOM's roar may be loud but it's just a mouse with a megaphone.

Furthermore,if you want to serve without distinction, join GALCOM Prime. If you want to be defeated at every turn, join Orion. If you want be away from your family chasing rumors, killing defenseless aliens and hiding in the shadows, join Wraith. Finally, if you want to fly a cargo ship or drive a space-bus join ISS. However, if you prefer truth, and victory join the Insurgents.

Just a suggestion. You need to decide based on where your heart leads. Otherwise you will be destroyed while serving in a position that you attained by not be honest with yourself. If you cannot be honest with yourself you are of no use to anyone!

</rp>

Good Luck, Commanders. Either way, we'll meet amongst the stars.

<RP/ON>

Good evening, Gentlemen.

And you really think you will get your job done by force only? It seems the past thousand years have passed you by...

Have you ever heard of a goal achieved through force only? Withouth diplomatics? Without hesitation?

You should read a certain book. It may be ancient, but it is worth reading... It is the

"Art of War". It basically says that the most difficult thing in a war to do is waiting. We all have seen "Rambo". We have seen how he kills hundreds of enemies with only a thirty-round magazine in his Awtomat Kalashnikowa. And we have seen him going to jail for his crimes.

Alright, let your colleague go on... let him kill defenseless people. In fact, that is a favor. We couldn't get any better propaganda than you will make for us...

Yours,

O. Hasenau

Commander Blackwell,

I commend you on your idea for centralized thread for info on all fleets. I think this is a great start towards informing the New Commanders, as well as Non-Aligned Commanders. I think we have enough RP threads going at this time, so I am asking you to not use this one as that type thread. Let's use this one for what I believe to be Commander Blackwell's intentions, Purely Informational Data.

PS: A little Propoganda is Ok, but no full fledged hair pulling and eye gouging please!

I would also like to thank you for creating this thread Cmdr. Blackwell. I applaud your efforts. A Grand idea.

Now on to recruitment. smile.gif

Reality and Roleplay sort of bend but here goes.

Anyone who has the game knows that the Insurgents are one of the "Bad Guys". As they are also Terran this opened up a unique possibilty. It was an opposing force to GalCom. More so than an ENEMY threat? Hmmm. But still a thorn in the side of GalCom.

Different player fleets were created and an Insurgent fleet was among them.

We who have joined the Insurgent Cause are the real life "BadGuys" so to speak. But we really aren't.

<quasi roleplay>

We Insurgents believe that the UFN has Sqandered the Earth's resources, still continues to sqander them on an alien presence on Earth. An Embassy maybe but not TOTAL Funding. (Read the Manual)

We Believe Earthcom has committed crimes against humanity and should be disbanded.(manual)

We also believe The UFN has endorsed crimes against humanity in the form of Experiments and should be disbanded or reformed. (manual)

<quasi roleplay> OFF

<G> Hopefully I didn't delve too deep into roleplay. But if you want to be a "good" "Bad Guy" Join the Insurgents. We would definitley appreciate it if you would.

And please remember, CIC is in command of this site and his game. Any Teeth Gnashing should definitley be enclosed in the <RP>; {RP}; [RP]; tags. However you would like to enclose them. smile.gif Just be sure you do in an appropriate thread.

  • 1 month later...

I've seen a surge in the Roster since Ver. 2.0 came out. It's time for more recruiting! <G>

Anyone with their own brain is invited to check out the Insurgent cause. Free Earth from her possibly well meaning but definitely blundering Gov't. Write your own rules; be your own soul. Don't fall into the dogma of the UFN and Galcom.

Any free thinker out there is welcome. Total renegades are not. Come check us out and see what we are made of.

Commander Chavik

P.S. Choosing Insurgent in no way implies any opinions of the site itself. It just means you want to play that character. You will still be a BC3K gamer and treated fairly on any gaming or technical questions you may have. smile.gif

Remember guys, that "<rp>" does not cover all..

[rp]

So, if ya want to join a big and safe fleet, Orion is your choice.

Dont join Insurgents, because they do not have future. They grov, so does GALCOM.

To the he-ll with insurgents..

[rp off]

So, you know guys, Mars Polar lander launched, and guess what, it was multinational, USA, Russia, Germany, and FINLAND! Haha, we are not so stupid.. wink.gif

And the conquer of the Dollar also started wink.gif

But hey, join Orion Fleet.

Well, I got no cool quotes, no "rallying" slogan for this recruitment effort...so the only thing I can do is give the hard facts about the Wraith Fleet.

Wraith Fleet is a specialized Strike/Guerrilla force. We are not a battle fleet, not a front line fleet... we are the dark side of the light.

Wraith operations include raiding enemy shipping and installations, assassination/kidnapping of selected enemy personnel and sabotage.

During the TDF War, Wraith Fleet sent its Corsair and Delta Wings deep behind enemy lines while HellHound Wing bottlenecked the enemy advance at Polaris by mining the wormholes and jump gates leading to Earth before pulling out to join the defense of Jupiter.Corsair Wing performed brilliantly and gallantly, destroying vital enemy resources and creating havoc on the enemy's own back yard. Delta Wing however, was affected by a strange virus in their computer systems and were disabled in the Credian quadrant.

Wraith Fleet is currently deployed in defensive positions around its installations and hunting for a unknown and extremely powerfull Galactan BC known only as "The EDGECRUSHER".(Read older commlink posts for info on this ship).

Wraith Fleet has only one motto, one way to operate: HARD FAST AND FURIOUS... FIRST!!!!!!!.

Welcome, one and all.

As Daniel so rightly pointed out above - some Fleets don't need slogans and fancy names. Some fleets exist for one purpose and one purpose only. To get their job done - and to do it well. Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the ISS.

The InSystem Support Fleet may be one of the newer fleets, but that does not necessarily mean we are not as "good". The ISS fills a very specialised niche. We accept those Commanders whose specialities do not necessarily lie within the spehere of head-to-head space combat. We accept specialists in all combat support roles, as well as espionage and intelligence. The ISS acts as a well-spring of specialised information and skills, and as such, a Commander within the ISS fleet is a recognised authority in their field, and much sought after in the fields of battle - and beyond.

As the leader of the ISS Fleet, I can feel justified in boasting of her exploits. My own ship, the GCV First Light, was instrumental in putting down an Insurgent attempt to test a dangerous new weapon on the planet of Pluto. The First Light played an important part in the lead-up to the First Gammulan War, and our forces were instrumental in both information gathering during this war, as well as defense of the Jupiter region.

For more information, I urge you to either visit our website, at http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare.Arena/9206/iss/ , or to contact myself, the ISS Fleet Coordinator; Jeehun Ristar, my Vice Coordinator and the head of the Intelligence and Espionage Arm; or William Ramsay (AKA Alun Tringad), the head of the Tactical Support Arm.

I can offer you no platitudes, no fiery war-cries, and no promises of glory and wonder, for this is war, and war is not gloried or wondrous. What is gloried, however, is serving your people by protecting themselves and their lives. All I can offer you is my personal motto, and that of my ship - "Serve - with honour."

Yours,

Commander DeSylva

Tac!!!

What you just admitted to here is what the Insurgency has been claiming that you GALCOMMIES have been doing all along. Your Superiors have always denied that this happened, but from your own mouth, you just confirmed our allegations! Furthermore, you just admitted that GalCom has a special Fleet for just this purpose! Thanks for telling the Universe that the Insurgency was RIGHT all along, and Thanks even more for Telling The Truth!

Have to back my CO here.

<rp>

Have one to many violations? Been caught with illicit items lately? Pissed the Galcom brass off one too many times? Well the Corsair Wing of Wraith Fleet is for you. Corsair Wing is composed of the dredges, malcontents, and misfits of Galcom.

The Wing Commander may be facing a court-martial for an unauthorized nuke attack on the Gammulan Homeworld. That is if the Corsair Wing Commander survives the Wing's current assignment deep within Gammulan space.

Corsair Wing is the smallest wing assigned to Wraith Fleet. Ships and personnel specialize in Guerrilla warfare and other covert operations. Relying on stealth and quick strikes (hit and fad), raids for ship/wing resupply, and lone ship deployments that often last for months.

Corsair Wing is currently creating havoc and myhem in Gammulan space, searching for a mysterious cruiser that infected the Wings computer systems during a "so-called" joint defense with Insurgent Forces. Type, class, or race of this cruiser is unknown, all that is known about this mysterious craft is that it is rogue ship without affiliation. The Wing's transmissions are garbled, too much interferrance.

I think this is the final nail in the coffin Rattler!

The main difference between Insurgents and Wraith Fleet, Rattler, is that we have to be discriminate about our targets. Spoken to any Neptune survivors, lately? *BEG*.

Gareth,

To be honest, no I haven't, have you? But That's not the question here. The question here is "If Akira hadn't done it, Wouldn't Wraith have tried it also?" That's their line of business isn't it? smile.gif From Tac's own lips I hear "we are the dark side of the light." So whom else would you have sent to insure that that darn secret didn't get away from Neptune and find it's way back to Gammulan Space? Need I say more? I think NOT at this time. We'll just drop it here and now. Doesn't warrant the agrivation biggrin.gif

Rattler: Wraith Fleet fights the enemy military, not its population. We are not like you, nor do we wish to ever stoop so low.EVER.

And yes, Wraith Fleet is involved in black Ops targeted at our enemies..you, the Gammulans and the Valkyries, but it has never and will never perform ANY kind of action against non-military personnel, be it human, gammulan or valkyrie.We are not murderers...we do not drops OTS's on civilian colonies.

Now Tac, I don't want to hear any of that crap from you! You messed up here, by admitting that your Black Ops Fleet even existed. Furthermore, Your Own Corsair Wing just threw gasoline on this fire with his post, and I quote "The Wing Commander may be facing a court-martial for an unauthorized

nuke attack on the Gammulan Homeworld. That is if the Corsair Wing Commander survives the Wing's current assignment deep within Gammulan space."

Now, you want to retract some, if not all of what you just said, or look like the kid with his hand caught in the preverbial "cookie jar!"

Ooooppps so much for backing up CO, opened can of worms. Might as well run with it.

<rp>

Battlefield damage assesment from the UNauthorized OTS attack on the Gammulan homeworld by Corsair Wing forces are nil. Gammulan ODS in orbit and planetary ground defenses (SAL/SAM) destroyed all OTS weapons launched in the planets tropospere. Gammulan casualties were zero. Current Wing status is perilous; 2 Galactan BC, both heavily damaged and 6 Starcruiser Heavycruisers remain. Gammulan forces have forced Corsair Wing to retreat from Gamma-1 to Tyrinis.

<rp/>

Will post something in Finding Akira thread.

The problems with command Tac is the boss is resposible for subordinate actions; right or wrong.

Not trying to "get" out of it DeSylva, just stating the OTS (nuke) attack was a tactical flop and the Gams are exacting revenge. And yes I am still stuck waaaaaay behind enemy lines, up to my --- in Gammulans. Still have a court-martial to go thru also (if the Wing makes it back to "friendly lines". Wow, talk about a twist in a plot. What if a Galcom Wing were to .........?

Now it is up to Tac to weasel Wraith Fleet's position against the Insurgent's position. Another side benifit of a Fleet Commander: Politics!

Guest Ron Wallin

I'm going to drop the bomb on the whole lot of you!

1. Akira only took out military targets on neptune.

2. There are NO colonies on Neptune. That's why I, as an author chose neptune as the relocation site within SOL space. The manual (which ALL of you should've read) clearly shows that NO life exists on Neptune. That's what made it the perfect place for a secret military base. tsk, tsk, someone should've mentioned that by now.

3. The only things that died on NEPTUNE were

a. Gammulans

b. EARTHCOM personell

c. The crew of the few ships fighting just above the surface of Neptune.

4. Insurgents have always been AGAINST EARTHCOM. To allow the type of weapons development they were conducting to continue was beyond anything the TDF could've justified. Not only that, but EARTHCOM couldn't even keep it secret from our shared enemy the GAMMULANS. So AKIRA DESTROYED THEM ALL.

Earthcom should know not to play with fire. You always get burned, or in this case incenerated!

Oh, BTW, EARTHCOM dropped the ball and let the GAMMULANS get away with the plans for the modified iridium and weapons and who's said word one about that? Guess who stole it back and took them out too? Guess who still has it? Guess who hasn't realized that importance yet?

Hey, a fellow mudder? Good to see!

Well, once you choose your designation, you're stuck with it on the roster - which is why I always recommend to newbies to shop around for a fleet first. But if you make the decision to join a fleet, we will accept that you have simply transferred from Prime fleet to a new assignment...*grin*.
