Orders received and Understood Cmdr. Rattler.

Alas, peace was not to be. You have shown your true colors GalCom. I was hoping this could at least be a peaceful exchange and at most the beginning of a truce or cease-fire. However, it seems clear you desire only blood. And if it is blood you seek, it is blood you will get.

"Helm, set a rendezvous course with the Nevermore. Time to get out of here."

God help me and Akira willing, I will have this ship towed all the way to ISS HQ and I will personally shove a half dozen vagrants up that accursed station's exhaust pipe. If my ship is disabled I'll man one of my own ICs and strafe ISS to hell, and if my ICs are disabled I will have my ship and all support craft ram a hole clear through ISS. I have seen ENOUGH of your treachery and deceit. You drain the lifeblood of your people in witch hunts and now you are condemning thousands of lives in a battle you engineered out of an opportunity for PEACE.

We are coming for you, every one of you and every ship you are in. The vacuum of space will drown out your death-cries and scatter your blood throughout the system. Your only recourse at this point is to stand down and save the blood that will soon be shed. I hope you do, but it won't be me crying if you don't. Let ISS fall, and let every Insurgent cheer in triumph, "Veni, vidi, VICI!"

Rattler: Comm's, Message to Usagi.....

Tac, It matters not whom is in whom's backyard. This is about Honor and Integrity. We Gave OUR word, and accepted yours in return. Now Stand Down from Tactical while we are leaving.

Comms: That's it, Commander?

Rattler: That's it, Now Send It!!

Comms: Message Away, Sir.

Rattler, Insurgent One

<RP/>

Tac, I recommend that Akira spearheads up a mission development team of Chavik, Yourself, Ristar,Alun and possibly DeSylva and Myself. We could start writing these missions, and then, if we all get access to the Building System, could seriously get down to it in upcoming adventures. What do you guys think? biggrin.gif

***Begin Transmission***

Locke1 and Chavik, Akira. Initiate plan Beta-02. We will rendevous with Rattler in Polaris-2. At that point Locke1 you will be towed to Velari for repairs. I will arrange for payment. Once repaired you are to join us back in Polaris1. Belay, your hostillities. We have more important actions in Polaris1. Details are being transmitted now.

Chavik, I'm sorry, but this escort mission has ended. The current situation requires other tactics and we cannot waste time with the safe passage of one man. Our orders are to proceed to Polaris2 and await the arrival of Insurgent One. Pray they make it. Us three will not be enough to stop what's coming.

***End***

Transmission relayed, sir.

Good, open a channel to the First Light.

Aye, Aye, channel open, sir.

***Begin Transmission***

First Light, this is Cmdr. Akira of the ICV Nevermore. As of this moment you are on your own. I suggest you leave the area at best speed. We have detected what appears to be a large armada of cloaked craft. Coded details are following. Get these to GHQ ASAP. Our future will depend on it. Good luck, Cmdr. DeSylva. Akira out.

***End Transmission***

Tactical, where is At All Costs?

We have her in tow, sir.

Good, Nav, get us to Polaris2. FO, Best speed once you have the coordinates.

Rattler, that would be really cool if we could get a team together. I was planning on doing it by myself, but many heads are better than one. I'm in if it works out smile.gif

Comms: Message incomming from Nevermore. Nevermore, Pheonix, and At All Costs enroute to Polaris2 for formation with Spectre. They've picked up sensor data that indicates an incomming, Unknown Fleet. What are your orders, Sir?

Rattler: Coms, prepare to send the following messages.

Spectre Fleet....Withdraw from current assignments, stand down from current postures. De-Cloak and set in course for Polaris 2. Necromancer will assume Fleet Control upon arrival in Polaris 2.

Strike Trojan Horse....Change course to Polaris 2 Immediately. First Ships on scene to lend assistance to Nevermore, Pheonix, and At All Costs. Upon entering Polaris 2, remain Uncloaked, but in Full Battle Posture.

Jester.....Sanctions lifted from previously assigned targets. Join with Spectre at Polaris 2.

Nevermore/Pheonix/At All Costs.....Expedite evac from Polaris 1. Help enroute Best Possible Speed. Transmit proper IFF.

GCV First Light/GCV USAGI/GCV Shogun/GCV Predicant....Insurgent Fleet withdrawing from GalCom Proper Space. Possible Invasion fleet detected. We are, I Repeat, We are going to maintain our Original agreement of non-hostilities towards GalCom at this time, unless fired upon by GalCom Forces. Most strongly recommend that you extract Cmdr Tringad, and make expeditious withdrawal from Polaris 1. Spectre Fleet to gather in that region in short order. If what I believe to be true is really happening, your cooperation/assistance would be greatly appreciated. Request confirmation of cooperation, should the requirement exist.

Rattler: Got all that Comms?

Comms: If you said it, I got it, Sir.

Rattler: Good, get it out to space then.

Comms: Gone, Sir!

Rattler: Nav, Lay in a course for Polaris 2. Now get us outta here!

Nav: Initiating Hyperjump. Next stop, Polaris 2.

Rattler: Rattler's off the Bridge. Mr. O'Grady, you have the Con. Wake me when we get to Polaris 2.

O'Grady: Aye, Sir! I have the Con.

Commander Locke confirming tow with ICV Nevermore. Perhaps I was a bit brash in my judgment of GalCom, but I still have my suspicions and about those cloaked ships and I'm reluctant to leave for repairs at a time like this. Still, I will proceed to Velari as planned and I fervently hope those are not human vessels cloaked in Polaris-1, lest my faith in the species be destroyed. I shall have the engineers at Velari work double time to bring my ship back to combat readiness so I can rejoin the fleet. I can only hope the shadows in Polaris-1 will wait for me...

Chavik was leaning back in his office chair when over the Comm System he heard, "Commander Chavik, please report to the bridge immediately. Commander Chavik, please report to the bridge." Knowing it must be extremely important for him to be ordered to his own bridge Chavik made all haste. At least it had better be important, he thought glumly.

Arriving on the bridge he was assualted by Mr. King, "Sir, the Nevermore has powered weapons."

"What? Get Akira on the horn now! This mission was not to be aggressive and..."

"Communication from the Nevermore sir. Marked urgent," Miss Siamet broke in.

"Speakers!" Chavik demanded. As Chavik listened to the Nevermore's transmission his spirits fell. "Well that explains his actions; I knew Akira would not break objectives without good cause. Ok people, time to get cracking. Miss Brasfield, run a check on all support ships; once ready send some flight engineers to At All Costs to assist. Mr. Cooper, initiate Mother's systems check. Mr. King, check on those anomalies Akira is reporting and arm the weapons. Main IOD and Missiles only, leave the PTA off. Mr. Brom, get a tractor lock on Tringad's shuttle again, we don't need him wandering off. Miss Siamet leave all channels open and listen for any more communications and please transmit to AT All Costs that our engineers are to work overtime getting her jump capable. Also, please inform the First Light of the current situation. Has everyone got their orders straight?"

A chorus of "Ayes" resounded around the bridge and the comm system from those officers not present. Finished with giving orders Chavik finally settled in to his command chair. No sooner had he settled it into a central position than Miss Siamet said,"Commander, we have a tranmission from the Necromancer and one from the shuttle."

"Put Rattler's transmission over the bridge and pipe Tringad's thru my visor."

"Aye sir," replied Miss Siamet.

Tringad's transmission took only a second and then the whole bridge crew listened to Rattler's. "Ok people, our little party has been crashed. Everyone knows what to do. Mr. Brom, target the First Light and jump. As soon as we are in range drop Tringad's shuttle. I don't care if she glides into the docking bay; use your own discretion. Then withdraw per orders. Miss Siamet advise the First Light of our actions."

"Yes sir," they replied.

"Sir, more transmissions. from the Necromancer again and the Nevermore," said Miss Siamet.

"Ok pipe them through." The bridge crew again listened to the incoming messages and the mood grew even more somber. "People, not only has our party been crashed it is about to turn into a riot it seems. Mr. Brom, begin jump and as soon as Tringad is safely in range of the First Light target the Polaris 2 jumpgate. Maintain contact with the Nevermore and At All Costs. Advise them of our intentions and tell them that we will be arriving shortly after they do."

Begin Transmission ***

Rattler and Akira, Chavik here. Messages received and understood. Initiating plan Beta-02 as soon as I drop off Tringad. The First Light is on the way towards Polaris 2 jumpgate so it shouldn't take long. I maintain my original objective. If we lose Tringad now the repercussions could be disastrous. Weapons are armed but I have informed the First Light of our intentions. Time to see how much they trust me. I don't think many men could take a Battlecruiser Jumping towards them at warp and weapons hot. Will follow to Polaris 2 immediately. Chavik out.

End Transmission ***

"Miss Siamet, send that broad band. Mr. Brom initiate jump and then let's GTFO."

GCV Usagi ---> ICV Necromancer

You are free to pull your forces out Insurgent One. They will be passively scanned before leaving the wormhole, just in case you "borrowed" or acquired something while you were here. I'm sure you will understand. You'd do the same!

I do not know the nature of the "cloaked" vessels we have been detecting, but know that *ANY* vessel that breaks the truce will be hunted down and destroyed. Be it Insurgent, Raider, Gammulan or even a rogue Galcom or Earthcom ship. We gave our word and we keep it no matter what.

As an act of faith I am witholding the Wraith BC's in Mars.I am dispatching the Wraith Starcruisers GCV Jacobi and GCV Othello to the Saturn region to escort Alun's shuttle just in case the fighting breaks out. Im confident it wont be you who starts it, but whomever is cloaked out there may have a different idea, and if that happens, the First Light should be fighting, not nursing a shuttle.

May this be an example for future negotiations.."begginings are such difficult times" (BG Coda).

"Comms, send a copy of that message to ISS and all Galcom vessels in the area."

"Done Commander"

"Inform the Hell's Fury and the Nemesis to stand by, we have variables in this equation."

"Commander, Jacobi and Othello have jumped into Saturn region and are proceeding at maximum speed to escort Cmdr. Tringad's shuttle."

"Tell them to keep their guns cold and their eyes open. Order the Jacobi to perform a parabolic path to the shuttle, tell it to scan the area where the anomalies have been detected"

"Transmitting.... Jacobi complies. Her skipper says that no ship can escape his daschound's nose" (giggles)

<Mumbles>"Keeping a dog in a bridge is one step short to insanity"

"Say again Sir?"

"Never mind Mia, just remembering why I requested the Jacobi for the Wraith. Loyal, unconventional men are unpredictable, and.."

"and those men are dangerous to the enemy, which is why they are Wraiths" she finished.

"Darn right.Keep me updated on the Jacobi's progress."

"Aye sir"

"Mia"

"Commander?"

"Order all Wraith Patrol ships to cloak and await the coming fleet. If hostile they are to wait for the fleet to jump in the system and then mine the wormholes. Have the mines set to ignore Insurgent IFF signals. To the remainder of the Fleet. Cloak and prepare for a possible Fleet engagement."

"They wont know what hit them sir" responded the young Japanese Tactical Officer with a wicked grin, the adrenalin clear in her voice.

"I know..the delightful part is that at this point the incoming fleet will see the Wraith cloaking and they know it too." <evil grin!>

</RP>

Hey we can REALLY write this stuff :-) I'm all for it! Just *DONT* blow my cruisers eh? I need em for my script ^_^ You may bang em to kingdom come, but dont blow them. Im so happy! A few days ago my good old Longbow 2 wingman joined my Fleet! Gentlebeings, I'd like to direct your attention to Hellstar Kagato, Commander of the GCV Tsuing and the only nut I know of who can pull off a cannon attack on a T-72 tank at close range. :-) Now he has Vagrants...I wonder.... *G*

Cmdr. Tringad, Wraith Fleet is sending escort to you. I will be in the system shortly. Cmdr. Londono, if you can provide cover for Cmdr.Tringad until I arrive and I will take over recovery procedures from there. Thank you for your help.

Cmdr. Junkkari, pull your ships back to the Jupiter space to your base, thank you for your assistance, the Insurgents are pulling back, we have intercepted comms from the Insurgents about cloaked anomolies in various regions, monitor space traffic and keep us posted on your findings and we will do the same.

</rp off>

Cmdr. Tringad, I haven't been able to talk with DeSylva about the RP script, but I thought about implementing it anyway, I don't see why it wouldn't be fun for the current role play, it will add some political intrigue to it. So if you are up to it I will introduce it in the next couple of days, and I will let you know and we can figure out how it will begin.

I have to say to all the participants that this has gone really well with the development and we're about to lead into some good stuff.

I don't want to give anything away, but I'm working on an idea to introduce the Droidans into the role play, and it involves Cmdr. Tringad. This will be in addition to the "anomolies" detected by Rattler and the Insurgents.

<rp on>

Nav Officer: "Sir, We have reached the Polaris System. The Wraith Fleet has two Battlecruisers in the system escorting Cmdr. Tringad."

"Comms Officer, open a hailing frequency to the GCV Othello, and tell them that we have control of Cmdr.Tringad's shuttle, and they are free to re-join their fleet operations, and tell them to give Cmdr.Londono my personal regards."

Comms Officer: "Yes, sir on the way"

Nav Officer: "The GCV Othello and GCV Jacobi are heading to the jump points sir"

"Get two interceptors out there to escort Cmdr.Tringad's shuttle to us."

Flight Officer: "Yes, sir"

"Ensure that the Orion Fleet has been well taken care of and that they have what they need to get under way, and let Cmdr. Junkkari know that we appreciate his help."

</rp off>

Cmdr Tringad, I'll leave the role play there for now, and I will get in contact with you on how to introduce what we talked about, if you have any ideas let me know, and I'll get it in here tomorrow or so.

Thanks for all the fun writing people, and to all the Insurgents, you made some fun tension moments. Good work.

<crackle>

Acknowledged Commander Junkkarri. Our current position in *within*, I repeat *within* the Flux-field ! When we first contacted, my Com-specialists heard some encrypted messages on the Gammulan sub-space range. He knew them for he has been in the battle for the Pixan, wich we won, while we were greatly outnumbered ! (surf.to/twobombs)

The chief ISS commander did issue the order for all hyperspace jump-points, we also saw the patrols moving in on these sensitive duties, but *we* as a collective forgot that the *is* a flux-field in our own solar system !

Here is a piece of the log:

Commander ! I am picking up an encrypted Gammulan subspace transmission, aimed not Gammulan territory, but into our system !

Navigator, set course to that signal, and warn Cmd. Junkkarri.

Sir, that signal comes from the flux-field, and I can't relay a message to our base, commander!

Hold on tight, we're going in !

Sir, the signal is getting stronger !

Engage Cloacking-device ! computer voice-over : Cloacking Device engaged

Set shields to 50%, close down *all* weapon systems, *and* launch-bays.

Sir ! I'm picking up a visual on the Nav-Comm computer !

Put it on screen

Silenly we watched the Navcomm, as the screen got with red dots, and Vespurian and Gammulan ships were indentified.

Sir ! We've got to get out of here, they must be a whole fleet by now !

Those Vespurian must have got some sort of technique to get a whole fleet into and out of the flux-field!

All shields at maximum! No PTA or IOD, just shields, whe're going to get out of here !

-- end log

F***!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That does it! I give you lot my forum for five miniutes, and look what you bloody do? My god! DeSylva is about to pop an artery...*grin*

<RP>

Klaxons echoed stridently throughout the halls of GALCOM HQ. Their piercing tones split the air as personnel ran in a hundred different directions. The flashing lights and emergency system bathed the station in a deep red. The colour of blood.

GALCOM were preparing for war - a war no one had expected to face so soon.

DeSylva had given up waiting for a shuttle car - instead, he ran as fast as his legs would carry him through the corridoors and hallways of the great station. He puffed, and briefly regretted his decision not to revise his basic endurance training, before bringing his datapad up to his face.

On one side of the screen, a stream of green characters continued to update themselves. Data concerning the hundreds of cloaking anomalies was still streaming into GALCOM's intelligence section, and as part of the command staff, he had a direct link to this information as it arrived. What he was seeing was not comforting - Iridium traces on a scale not seen before in the history of GALCOM. On the other side of the screen, the logo of the First Light rotated serenely in holographic 3D.

"DeSylva to bridge. Respond immediately."

Within seconds, the logo had been replaced by the face of Emma Norbury, his Medical Officer and second in command.

"Norbury. What the hell is going on down there, Commander?"

"Damn it, Emma, we have big problems here. The rendevous is off - the Insurgents are pulling out, both of Polaris and Saturn."

"Isn't that good news, Commander?" asked Emma. He grimaced as he shook his head.

"No, Em, it's not. They're pulling out because they've detected multiple cloaking anomalise in the area. Looks like a fleet - a big one. And it's not ours. They're accusing us of ambush."

She frowned. "How big a fleet?"

He sighed. "Emma - as of now, GALCOM are calling every ship back onto active duty and are mustering them at GALCOM HQ. This isn't just a strike - this is a war fleet that's staring us down the throat."

The look of shock on Emma's face surprised him, but it was quickly hidden. "Very well, Commander. Your orders?'

He nodded grimly as he continued running towards the main flight deck of the station. "Call all crew onto standby, and I want all systems online and launch ready now - if not sooner. And record and transmit the following comms..."

----------

TO: Daniel Londono, GCV Usagi

SOURCE: Gareth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: Fleet Assistance

Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Starstation Renegade is an integral part of the ISS's defence systems, as well as housing the families of many of our personnel, so her well-being is central to my concerns. I thank you and Wraith fleet for your policing tactics around the Sol system. Now, I suggest you get to Earth space immediately for the muster, because the excrement is about to hit the ventilating device in a big way. And no - I haven't seen the Edgecrusher.

---

TO: Antti Junkkari, GCV Predicant

SOURCE: Gareth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: Protection of ISS HQ

Your efforts in mobilising your fleet so quickly and moving them into place around the ISS HQ did not go unnoticed by me. They ensured that the Insurgents did not make any rash moves, and for that I am truly grateful. the ISS will be indebted to both Orion Fleet and Wraith Fleet for many days to come. Fly well, Antti, and hunt swiftly. I suggest you mobilise and move to Earth space immediately for the muster. We're going to need every ship we can get, and that means we are going to need Orion Fleet...

---

TO: Jeehun Ristar, GCV Shogun

SOURCE: Gareth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: Pick-up

Commendations, Ristar - I couldn't have done this without you. Thanks for holding our station together in my absence. Hope the evacuations to Starpoint went well, and the remaining personnel are ready for whatever the hell we are facing out there.

Remain in Polaris until I get there. Do not leave unless forced to. Try and get as many scanner readings as you can - we NEED to know what is out there. This is a matter of life and death, Jeehun, and I don't say this lightly. Whatever is out there is of a magnitude that dwarfs anything we have faced before.

Go well, be safe, and godspeed, Commander. Keep our man Tringad safe. I'll be there as soon as I can get the First Light underway.

---

TO: Alun Tringad

SOURCE: Gareth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: Rations? RATIONS?

Forget your stomach, Tringad, we have bigger problems here. Something out there is watching you and it's got eyes bigger then I've seen in quite a while.

Sit tight. You've got two Wraiths standing watch at the moment - as soon as Jeehun and I get there, we'll haul you in and then haul **** out of there! This is on nightmare I don't want to face again in a hurry - but I get the feeling that the nightmare is only just beginning...

---

TO: Commander Locke, ICV At All Costs

SOURCE: Gareth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: Trouble

Guess what, smart-***? Reality check! We are all in trouble here, Commander Locke. I don't know if your receiever is working out there yet, but I hope you recieve this. It is time to stop acting like an adversary and time to start acting like a Terran! It is that time for all of us. What we are facing out there is bigger than you, I, or anyone can comprehend. So how about putting your prejudices aside long enough to open your eyes and see what is about to break over us? DeSylva out!

---

TO: Commander Rattler, Insurgent One

SOURCE: Gareth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: Cloaking Anomalies

God-damn, Rattler, if this was my fleet, they wouldn't be hiding behind cloaking fields! Look, old friend, I was anticipating this meeting as much as _your_ men were. GALCOM has no knowledge of this fleet, we certainly don't have this many ships missing or on leave, so these party crashers aren't our responsiblity.

If this is some kind of Insurgent trick, then you are oath-breakers. I hope you burn in hell for it, but I sure as hell won't be accompanying you to make sure. If this is something neither of us knows about, then I suggest we both get the hell out of there before this all blows up in our faces. I'm on my way to get Tringad. You are free to vacate Saturn space ANY TIME that is convenient...

---

TO: Cmdr. Akira, ICV Nevermore

SOURCE: Gareth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: Departure Orders

Your transmission has been receieved and understood. Get out. We will take Tringad. Truth be told, I will miss our little party - I was looking forward to it. Maybe in the future - but of course, we both know that there are a lot of maybes in this life. Until we meet again on the field of battle, DeSylva out.

---

TO: Geryg Chavik, ICV Pheonix

SOURCE: Gareth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: End-Game

Well, my friend, it looks like our hopes were not to be. We will have to continue, for a while, separated by the shadows.

I hope you will acknowledge my true and deep regret that this meeting could not come to pass. It could have been the start of something essential to the survival of our people, our race - an end to this senseless war. But perhaps our efforts have made some little difference. I live in hope, cynical hope nonetheless.

I have little more I can say to you now. The only advice I can give you is to leave. Leave now, join your fleet, and prepare as best you can for whatever is out there watching us.

Fly swiftly, my old friend. I hope that perhaps the next time we meet, it will be united against a common foe. Whether this is likely, I do not know. So take Akira and get the hell out of there. I will be arriving soon to pick up my operative - the two Wraith battlecruisers can watch him until then. Go, with godspeed, Chavik.

Until the end of forever,

DeSylva...out.

----------

The last of the transmissions had been sent as DeSylva sprinted from the elevator and out onto the flight deck itself. The enormous expanse of decking was so long that one end was hidden in shadow, only the twinkling lights of the many windows and portholes overlooking the deck standing as evidence that the deck was sealed off by an enormous bulkhead. All manner of ships lay scattered around the deck on landing pads demarcated in the usual yellow and black colour scheme.

Emma had told him she would have a ship waiting for him, on pad 045-ABX. He counted down the pads, still jogging. He began to frown as he drew closer to the reference number he had been given - the only ships nearby were fighter craft! Finally, his confusion was allayed, when he saw a single figure in a flight-suit standing on the wing of an Interceptor, waving madly. As he drew closer, he saw the face of his best Interceptor pilot, Tanya "Boarhog" Harding.

She shouted as he drew closer. "I'm here to take you back, sir!"

He stopped as he drew level with the ship, shaking his head. "She sent an Interceptor for me?" he asked, bemused. Tanya nodded seriously.

"She said it would be faster, sir." She threw down a helmet and a flight-suit. "Suit up sir, I'm just powering her up now."

DeSylva drew the suit on and affixed the helmet quikly as he heard the insistent whine emanating from the Interceptor, and the half-heard, half-felt crackle that indicated the field generators were coming on-line.

He vaulted up the steps bolted to the side of the Interceptor, and as he setlled himself in the co-pilot's seat, turned out to face the blackness of space. The tension, fear, and confusion that had reigned in the hours since the cloaked fleet had been detected were beginning to resolve themselves, now, in a feeling of loneliness and emptiness. Feelings that were only exacerbated by the broad expanse of empty space that seemed to gaze back at him with an inscrutable eye. He was, he realised, for the first time ever, truly facing the unknown. Facing the future.

A future that would soon be decided...for the good or ill of the entire Terran race.

Damn it guys, you leave me with a tall order!

Now, some housekeeping. No one, and I mean no one, is to bring in the Droidans or the Syrions without explicitly clearing it with Derek first. Just trust me on this one.

Can all those people who have some kind of script or plan worked out for this little furball PLEASE contact me and let me know what's going on????

And finally, well done, everyone. This is the kind of thing I envisaged when I began the RPG project, and when I found out we were going to have a forum on this site. It is the reason why I was, and still am, hesitant about writing "rules" for RP - because you guys do JUST fine as you go along. Thank you to everyone who has been involved - and special thanks go to Antti, who brought his fleet in at the last minute and did a damn fine job of it as well; Tac, for much the same reason; Locke, for adding a bit of spice to the punch at Polaris, and all of the regulars for a DAMN FINE SHOW! This is what I like to come back to on a Sunday night, even if I DID ask you not to do too much while I was away. A stroke? I'm still dizzy!

SUBJECT: This is it

Hell. This is gonna be a hell. Ok. Let's take it easy. Good thing our help did help. Man you got a mess out there in Earth.

Hold on there, we are comin' into your aid.

We can get 2 BC's immediately to Earth, my ship and Deadboys. TwoBombs is ordered there too. Good luck Gareth.

End transmission.

TO: Rattler, ICV-Insurgent One

SUBJECT: Ya wanna keep your vagrants off from us this time

You sure do. We have nothing to do with that f*ckin' big fleet. IF they are Gammulans, and you love Earth as much as we do, you aim your vagrants to THEM, not to US.

End transmission.

TO: TwoBombs, GCV-Aurora II

SUBJECT: To Earth! If you can.

Move your ass to Earth commander, hope you can get out of that big bad Jupiter..

End transmission.

TO: Deadboy, GCV-Whumpus1

Yea, you follow me to the holy place. Activate your Weapon Systems, shields 100%!

End transmission.

This is getting pretty funny.

Thank you Michael for thanks. Good thing I helped. Sorry for commander TwoBombs if he brought Gammulans here too early.

Let's have fun..

Ok, no Droidans, there is going to be alot of activity going around anyway.

<rp on>

"Comm Officer, open a fequency to Cmdr. DeSylva, the message is: I am holding fast in the Polaris system. I await further orders.:

Comm Officer: "Yes, sir"

Tactical Officer: "Sir, we have reports coming in from our field units. Gammulan field units have been activated from their land bases and loading onto transports. They say this looks to be an invasion fleet. The point of origin is from Gamma-1. There are numerous capitol ships deploying from the area. Contact with them was lost at that point."

"Have the units re-deploy and re-establish contact with the Gammulan task force."

Tactical Oficer: "Yes, sir"

Datalink GCV Usagi---> All GCV +ICV Vessels in Saturn Region Established.

Message Follows:

Our long range probes in Gammulan space have ceased transmitting, Wraith Starstation "Wrath" reports increased activity in the space lanes.

If this is truly a Gammulan fleet we got incoming they will not distinguish between ICV or GCV or ECV vessels, all they know is that we all come from Earth and thats what they are after.

When and IF this fleet crosses Credian space into Terran space they will be considered hostile and must be stopped before they reach our core.

Therefore I propose the following battle plan:

Wraith Fleet will deploy all its forces into Procyon and will wait for the Gammulan fleet to jump into Polaris. Once they jump in, Corsair Wing and Delta Wing (Wraith Wings) will jump into Credian space to intercept& destroy all Gammulan troop transports. HellHound Wing mine the wormhole into Polaris and fight a delaying action and will then retreat into the Sirius system, where Orion Fleet will wait for them and the Insurgents will fall on them from Barnard's Star. Depending on how the battle goes in Sirius, Earthcom and ISS may jump in and help destroy that fleet or if things are not going good, ISS and Earthcom will stay at Sol while Wraith and Orion retreats to Barnard's Star with the Insurgents.

If the Gammulans go after the Insurgents, Earthcom and ISS could hit them from behind, if they go after Earth WE will hit them from behind.

At this time Prime Fleet should have consolidated its forces and should be ready to counterattack into Gammulan Space.

Fleet Leaders and Insurgents please contact me as soon as possible with any thoughts about this. We are short of time, make haste.

</RP>

Hey where is the CIC??? We need Prime in this :-). TC McQueen? Earthcom??? Hello???

This is only a superficial draft, Ristar and De Sylva may create individual battles and scenarios, they are good at that :-).

*IF* this is so, we could create separate threads for each "theater" of battle.. one for the Wraith ships intercepting transports in Gammulan space, one for the battle of Sirius, and depending on how things go, the Battle of Barnard's Star or Earth.

Derek: How about you command the Gammulan Fleet in this scenario eh? :-)))

This is getting waay to cool! I just *KNOW* this will be part of a future BC3K book..I know it.

Some of you may be curious as to why the whole Wraith Fleet (minus 2 BC's) was at Sol when this started. Answer: Ever since the Fleet was started and the Starstation was being built the Fleet has been in the Moon region developing combat tactics.

From his vantage point in the Ops section of Velari station, Commander Charles Locke viewed the extent of the damage to ICV At All Costs for the first time. The front section of the once proud vessel was battered and smashed in, giving the ship the unimpressive visage of the receiving end of a left hook to the nose. Engineers in jetpacks swarmed around the vessel, and sparks flew as the multitude of mosquitoes slowly brought the giant to life again.

Locke sipped his wine as he gravely studied a datapad displaying the words "Freighter : Shining Star" and a picture of a large-class freighter. The ship At All Costs had rammed. The ship that had been torn into pieces by a collision with a cloaked vessel and destroyed before it ever knew what hit it.

It had been a refugee ship, carrying men, women, and children survivors of a Gammulan attack on some distant world. It had had many owners, the last being an Earth-based aid and rescue organization with some government support. Locke studied the crew listing with dismay; many families, many sick and injured. He had since stopped feeling guilt for the freak accident that occured when the two ships met at high velocity near a jump point, but the guilt was replaced with an anger that went straight to his soul.

How many refugee ships had he seen in his years, all fleeing Gammulan attacks? How many innocent lives would have to be taken before the bloodlust of that hell-born military would be satisfied? And when, and where would that line be drawn? Locke decided that, for him at least, Polaris-1 would be that line. He had spent much of his career fighting against GalCom to create a better and free world for the Terran people and he was still devoted to that goal, but this went far beyond that. The Gammulans threatened the very existence of his people, and that threat was waiting for him at Polaris-1. Locke's ill feelings toward GalCom and EarthCom couldn't help but feel trivial as he studied the TacOps map of Polaris-1, with the multiple anomalies that, if proven to be a fleet, rivaled the strength of any space-born armada in history. The only hope for Earth was for every single combat capable Terran vessel to muster together and fight alongside each other against this new threat, and Locke was not a blind man to this.

He set his mind to the task, and opened his communications channel.

Subject : Awakening

From : Velari Station

Desylva, it is not easy to set aside lifelong rivalries especially when the possibility of deceit and betrayal are involved. However, my time on Velari has been reflective for me, and I see now that the only way we can defeat this foe is to set aside those very rivalries and fight as one united species. Repairs should be complete within 2 hours, and when they are I shall rejoin Spectre Fleet under the leadership of Commander Rattler. I am sending this message to insure you that if we do meet on the field of combat against our mutual enemy at that point, you can rely on me not to let my past prejudices interfere with our united goal.

As soon as I meet my fleet, I shall also recommend the creation of a temporary IFF code for all ships fighting in this joint fleet, to prevent any mishaps with PTA systems and also to give a sense of anonymity to each Commander's vessel. This way, when we fight, we will see only 2 sides on our radar screens, and we will have no way of knowing which one of our allies is an Insurgent or GalCom officer. My recommendation for the title of this new IFF code?: TCV - TERRAN Command Vessel

Hmmm hey guys aint this all a bit too familiar???

This is beggining to sound like an SDF campaign!!!!! ICV and GCV's fighting side by side against a non-human foe. Maybe we could use this as the basis for allowing RPG SDF missions that allow Insurgents to join SDF (De Sylva told me this was not allowed in RPG so far).

A little correction to De Sylva's post: The Jacobi and the Othello are NOT Battlecruisers, they are Starcruiser Class Cruisers. They are not player owned, I made them up for the Wraith script I'm planning.

Another side note is that we seem to have a little confusion as to where this invading fleet IS at at the moment. We have cloak anomalies in Polaris, but that could be a Gammulan recon team, I doubt it that that the Gammulans will send all their fleet in one wave...thats suicide. Any light on this matter? De Sylva? (LIGHT LIGHT!)

Note to Tringad and De Sylva: I can have the Othello pick Tringad up (or beam you out, whatever) and take you to your ship or to the ISS HQ. I seem to have lost track of the events of your spy mission..was your ship destroyed? If not, I can ferry you to it :-). Free Taxi! If it was destroyed (or not avaliable or whatever) You are most welcome to take command of the Othello. That would be an interesting experience eh? Commanding a Cruiser? *G*.

Note for everyone: Just so you people know, the CIC allowed me some time ago to assign 2 Starcruisers and to each Wraith Member. Wraith Fleet has a ratio of 1 BC:2 Starcruisers and 1 Transport per every 2 BC's. Wraith Fleet currently has all its Cruiser complement in Wrath Starstation (with the exception of the Othello and Jacobi)along with 2 Wraith Battlecruisers whose naming is still pending and are on Defend Base deployment. (GCV SDF2 and GCV Phoenix are the 2 Galactans that need to rename..the players that reg'd them have not replied to my e-mails about this, so they are stuck in babysitting the station). If any counterstrike is arranged, the fleet is already behind the lines and eager to fight :-).

Someone contact McQueen... Earthcom should not sleep through this one!!

Locke: How about GPC (Gammulan Pest Control) IFF? (just kidding!). Good idea.. but this is TOO much like the SDF... Heh, maybe this could be the beggining of it!! Why not "TDF" (Terran Defense Fleet) which will later on in the RPG (and when the SDF campaign starts) turn into the SDF? NOW we have a background, a precedent for the creation of the "multilateral" SDF Derek has proposed for his Official SDF campaign. Its amazing how things fall together eh? :-)

You're right, Tac, it is a pretty good tie-in - I was going to announce it myself, but you stole the wind from my sails...*grin*.

Now, some housekeeping! Here is the current state of our forces. Chavik and Akira have pulled out, and so have the Spectre BCs from Saturn, meaning the Insurgent fleet is formed up in Barnard's Star. We have two Wraith craft and the Shogun en route or about to arrive in Polaris for the pick-up. Alun is sitting in Polaris in a stolen shuttle, his ship is in dock in ISS HQ (his Insurgent craft has been returned to Rattler's Den). The First Light has left Earth and is moving at full speed towarsd Polaris, and ALL GCVs and GALCOM military vessels are ordered to muster in Earth space. We also have the cloaking anomalies appearing - enough to pose a significant threat to GALCOM. It might not be their whole fleet (which ISS and Jeehun's operatives tell us is building up even more ships in Gamma-1) but what IS hiding out there is far enough into Terran space to pose a threat to us all. Looks like their rule pover Falkyrie homeworlds has finally paid off...

Seeing as Derek is pretty busy, how about I take over the command area for GALCOM forces. Rattler can do the same for Insurgent forces. We need someone to coordinate Gammulan actions, and I think Jeehun would be ideal, as he can letus know what is happening through his intelligence reports. Chavik and Akira can continue to hit us with surprises and push the role-play. I think this could go on for a good while...*grin*.

Now, onto the show...

SUBJECT: Battle Plan

I have spoken to Fleet Command and Fleet Group Tactica. They have approved your plan, with the following modifications...

When all GALCOM ships have been removed from Polaris, the contingency plan can commence. Remember, please, that there is SOMETHING out there in Polaris, so be prepared for the unexpected. When all GALCOM ships have left, Wraith Fleet can assemble in Procyon space. Pull back to Procyon with probes in place, and at the first signs of Gammulan activitity, move most of your force in. Your two reserve ships should be sneaked around the edge of the battle; as soon as they have passed through the Polaris-2 -> Polaris-1 jump point and have begun engaging the troop transports, detail several ships to mine the Polaris-2 -> Polaris-1 jump point. GThe two ships that have passed through this jump point should proceed to Zelana where they can have refuge in the main Zelon Starstation.

When you are ready to pull back, mine the the Polaris-2 -> Lennen jump point vigorously as you pass through - Each ship should approach from a different vector at full speed and drop their entire load of mines as they do. Equip the mines with position stabilisers so they don't get carried forward with the momentum of your ship. This shoiuld cut the flet in half and leave them no choice but to try and run the mines (suicide for many ships), or to waste precious time minesweeping. by that time, we can have mine-layers ready and forces prepared to do a progressivce fall-back from Lennen, to Lyrius, and then to Jupiter and Earth if need be.. at each fall back point, mine the entry point into the system, and the exit point as you leave. Hopefully, if the Gammulans push as far as Sirius system (almost a certainty) we can depend on assistance from Insurgent forces to attack them from behind before the next fall-back. As a result, do not mine the Lennen -> Sygan jump point!

You have your orders. Godspeed.

TO: Commander Rattler, Insurgent One

SOURCE: Garetth DeSylva, GCV First Light

SUBJECT: Insurgent Assistance

We were right. It's Gammulans out there.

they are fielding a fleet of enormous proportions, and the target seems to be Earth. If we AREN'T the target, we are certainly in the way.

We have organised a progressive fall-back of Terran forces from Polaris-2 to Earth if need be. If you want to preserve your own hide, old friend, then I suggest you join us at Lennen and fall-back with the Wraith fleet and other battlecruisers. I am issuing orders now which will ensure Insurgent well-being during this conflict.

I hope you will help us.

DeSylva out.

TO: ALL GALCOM PERSONNEL

SOURCE: GALCOM FLEET COMMAND, Gareth DeSylva

SUBJECT: Maneuvers

Okay, all forces, listen up.

As many of you may have heard, there is a Gammulan fleet massing for war. Well, it's worse than that - they are already in our back-yard. We have cloaking traces on a fleet of epic proprtions hiding in Polaris-2 at the present time. As a result, we are mobilising all ships. The defense of Earth is out number one priority and we are going to need every active ship working on this. As a result, I need a ROLLCALL! All people who are willing tot ake part in this endeavour, post to THIS FORUM NOW with your name, allegiance, and fleet if any.

Orders are as follows. Wraith Fleet has been issued orders as a coded transmission and is to proceed at all speed.

Orion Fleet is requested to muster all of it's members and take up position in the Lennen region, Sirius system. Wait for Wraith to fall back from Polaris-2, then fight any opposition that comes through after them fr as long as possible. Fall abck to Lyrius when you are pushed.

ISS Fleet is to assmeble all ships in Earth Space, along with all Prime fleet craft who have been given the Earth Defense orders. Members of the ISS Tactical Support arm, as well as all Prime Fleet ships not given Earth Defense orders, are ordered to proceed at all speed to Jupiter, where they will support Orion and Wraith fleet ships when they fall back from Lyrius. This is our last point of defense before Earth, so I want mines set on all jump points EXCEPT the Earth jump point as soon as all GALCOM craft have fallen back from Lyrius. It will be our last chance to hold them back from the Terran homeworlds.

I'm sure you all realise the seriousness of this situation. We are facing a holocaust of unimaginable proprtions. It is up to you - each and every one of you - to make US proud, and to prove to both the Gammulan scum and the other races who are watching this, that GALCOM is not just a diplomatic alliance - that it is a military power! So get to it, soldiers!

A final word - Insurgent craft may be assisting us in this mission. They are not to be fired ypon under any circumstances. I repeat, no personnel are to fire upon Insurgent craft under any circumstances - they are to be given the assistance you would give another commander during a military operations. If I find any of you have deliberately attacked or threatened an Insurgent vesssel during the course of this conflict, I will personnally escoprt you to GALCOM HQ for a full courtmartial and dishonourable discharge. I'm sure you all understand this, as well.

Good luck, soldiers, and Godspeed.

</RP>

Well, this is all I can do in the short time I have. Should be able to write more tonight. So get to it, soldiers! We have a Gammulan fleet to ward off!

PS: Daniel, you are in a very sticky situation. The ships you send through to take out armed transports might be blown away in short order. don't get too attached to whoever you are sending through.

See you all later!

Wel, Gentlemen, this has truely been an eventfull weekend smile.gif I must relay to you how it has shaped up for me, and share in our accomplishments smile.gif

I left for Atlanta early Friday morning so I was not at home when all this started. We were having a nice, friendly personnel transfer when I left, with Insurgents providing a little insurance for the safety of our Commanders in the mission. On Saturday, I had stopped in to one of my friends computer stores In Smyrna (just outside Atlanta) and he was just about to show me an IMac, telling me how good it was and how bright it's future looked. Well, we never got to the IMac, as I noticed that he had a PC connected to the net, and it was not being used. Naturally, being the person that I am, I sat down at the computer and came straight to the Comlink Forums, just to show him what a real website looked like smile.gif.

And What did I find, but you guys heavily in action and I was being left in the Space Dust. To make an even longer story shorter, I commadeered his computer for the better part of the next 3 hours, issueing orders, fielding questions from his customers, and his bosses, and trying to stay abreast of this situation. At one time I looked over my shoulder and had about 30 customers leaning in trying to tell me how to direct traffic of the ships, etc biggrin.gif Derek, BTW, start looking for a FEW new commanders up here, as there sure were plenty of them wanting to know how to get their hands on the game smile.gif

Now, I left there this morning (Atlanta) and after a trip of 4.5 hours, I'm back home, safe and sound. BTW, it's 382 miles from door to door (you figure the math) biggrin.gif

<RP>

OGrady: Ratter, Rise and Shine. We're through the gate to Polaris 2.

Rattler: Aye, Rattler has the Con. Tactical, what is that nose of yours telling you?

Tactical: Never seen anything like it, Sir! I've slipped a probe into Polaris 1, and besides the Designated GCV Vessels in there, about 6 or 7 of them, there's over 50 Irridium Emmitters going into overdrive, circling on edge of the System. We have Nevermore, Pheonix, and At-All-Costs on screen, with At-All-Costs undergoing repairs. She's just about ready to leave the Repair Facility, and is asking to join the Fleet.

Rattler: Tell her to come along side, but don't tie up smile.gif

He'll know what I mean. I still don't like this! There's something out there that doesn't smell right, but I don't think it's any GalCom Trick this time.

Rattler: Comms, get this out.

Spectre Fleet/Strike Trojan Horse..... Strike disband and rally on Necromancer. Spectre Fleet Rally on Necromancer. Designated Spectre Command Staff to report to Necromancer for Battle Tactics/Actions Briefing on Necromancer 15 minutes after completion of last jump to our next Rally Point.

Spectre Fleet....Proceed to Sygan, I repeat, Proceed to Sygan, Best Possible Speed. To All Commanders, You will not fire upon a GalCom Vessel until further notice. No Exceptions.

Rattler: Comms, you got it?

Comms: Yes, Sir!

Rattler: Let her go then smile.gif

Comms: Gone, Sir!

Rattler: Comms, Send my personal congrat's to Akira and Chavik on a job well done. Also tell them that I'm looking forward to seeing them in a couple of hours.

Send a second one to DeSylva on First Light and Londono on Usagi. Tell them that we Insurgents will not take a back seat support role in this one. If they look real carefully, they'll see us fighting, and if neccessary, dying right along side them for the good of Terrans across the Universe. We're regrouping at Sygan, but we're gonna come out swinging from there. God Speed and Good Hunting.....

Send It!

Comms: Messages Away, Sir.

Rattler, Insurgent One, Spectre Fleet

<RP/>

Ok, Akira, Chavik, Locke1, Tac, Ristar, Antti, and If I left anyone out, you guys get together some way and set this all up. This has turned into a Campaign, with different branches to be coordinated and scripted. Great Job Everyone biggrin.gif
