Have the realism in BC:M been taken too far?

Who's talking about retreating? I wiped that insurgent region in the 3k demo clear in a good 15 minutes with only my battlecruiser biggrin.gif (EMD, PTA, and a bit of wild flying, just like a drunk grandma on the highway)

I am pretty sure that if a couple of guys would be beating you to death and you had the chance to run away, would you stop and think, "Oh man, if I run away, what will my friends say, No, I better die here, at least I will not be thought of as a coward" I would run away, heal, then pick those guys off one by one, that way the fight is more equal and fair.

In real life you'd run away if you had the chance. But sometimes in a game, you might wanna push it just to see how far you can get before it blows. And sometimes then even, you might survive. But then, of course, you'll have to undergo some serious repairs. That ought to keep your puter busy the next few hours.

(The point is that now I have to let it be. frown.gif )

But hey! This is a game, not a space emulator. Or is it?

Teamwork is the key to success. If we stand united, we will succeed and defeat our enemies.

If you are getting beaten badly, you can try to combine your forces by ordering your BC to ESCORT another friendly capital ship that is attacking your enemy. I've noticed that when I order the BC to ATTACK a hostile, the hostile targets me in return. If instead, you ESCORT a friendly who is attacking the hostile, the friendly might get the brunt of the attack but you still attack the hostile. Also, if the friendly circles away, you will move towards the friendly to regroup. If you are both ATTACKing the hostile, you would be left alone if the friendly moves away.

Got a question, this might not be the place for it, but what the heck, If I join some group in RPG forum, I read about it and it says that you can be pretty much whoever you want, except for the fleet commander(that position is taken) if I want to be a guy who delivers supplies to the frontline ships, like components, food, and other stuff to support them, what do I choose for my character? Like caste, ship and all that.

You cannot be anyone in fleet. You must prove yourself to be worthy of a promotion. There's a hierarchy in the fleet.

You have, mainly, two options:

1 - Be a trader, in a transport

2 - Some fleets does have a supply division, or people working on supplies, where you can ride big ships. Orion doesn't... for now. I know that the Insurgency does (Balor fleet), but I wouldn't recommend it.

No matter that Epsilon says about the Insurgency, it is a great fleet.

Not true. You can choose your career, just not your rank. In essence, you CAN be anyone, but your RANK is dictated by your bosses and your performance.

I think I'm insulted. Was that a crack on Balor specifically or the Insurgency in general Epsilon5? Better watch out.[/rp]

Soback mentioned supply and RPG. Whether he meant actually joining a fleet or just writing it would be Terran/Galcom/commander/any ship for Galcom or Terran/Insurgent/commander/transport (preferred), or any ship for the Insurgency. Balor will need a few escorts and BC can still haul some cargo. I would welcome anyone interested in that.

And all of the above will probably be refined some more when we actually get to multiplay. smile.gif I can't wait.

Thanks for your help, and as I understand that RPG will take on a more physical nature once the Battlecruiser Millennium gets released, meaning that different races and castes can actually battle it out and fight for territory.
