aramike
Can someone please tell me where this phrase came to pass in regards to gaming? I always thought something going "gold" meant selling 100,000 copies. Now you see "gone gold" in EVERY publication, EVERYWHERE.It's irritating - especially when you hear about a game that goes platinum. Guest Mikel
AFAIK, the disk that they copy onto the other disk is colored gold, thus the term "Gone gold" was born.
Supreme Cmdr
heh, you must be thinking of the music industry. In the gaming industry, Gone Gold just means that the final game is now on a CD-ROM (usually a high-quality Gold disk) and off to manufacturing.
