I bought Gal Civ and played it until the game kept crashing on me (I had such a huge fleet it would crash)

I like it - but I've come to accept that a majority of the 4X games just aren't fun to me... not enough flash and pretty light explosions...

Anyone remember Star Wars Rebellion?

yeah I remember that one. It was quite fun there for awhile and I still drag it out now and again to mass my Imperial sector fleets and assault the puny rebellion. Best experiance was playing a game of it with my friend as we sat through a hurricane.

I had an old save game where I owned all but one planet in a huge size galazy - all of them had Imperial popularity rating of 100% and even the rebel base had an 84% popularity for the Imperials. I had a Death Star, 3 Super Star Destroyers and about 20 I2 SD's and about 32 Victory SD's per SSD. Along with fighters etc. The rebellion had like 3 Y Wings and that stupid Bespin HQ they had. Needless to say I made an example of the final rebel base with my Death Star - that had only fired on 2 planets before then (for target practice)

Yeah it's got a good story... I just wish the space combat had a little more depth to it...

zap zap back and forth until your ship disappears in little pixels isn't very exciting to me. Some of the mods for planetary engagements are fun... specifically scorched earth...

Well time to dig out this old thread since ive finally got something worthwhile to comment on..

Anyone here watch most extreme elimination chalalnge (from now on called MXC) or Iron Chef? both of these japense based shows are now being converted and brought over to america. Well the simple question is has the american televison industry lost its way?

Now days there seems to only be three type of shows on the air the sitcom (Friends & Fraiser) the soap opera (any rescent startrek serries) and the reality show (and the not so reality show - fear factor)

therefor I wonder has televison now declined in popularity to be replaced by something else? (the internet per say) or is america just simply out of new and creative ideas ... and when they DO find one they pull a firefly?

ah well

-Fox__Trot - who rescently lost there name in subspace and is now called "SnotGlass" poor me

Personally, I don't really watch much TV. I don't really like watching TV.

Every once in a while I turn on the tube for something like Law & Order or Scrubs, and then, when I'm done watching, I feel like my mind is all numb from all the commercials and I can finally understand how these fast changing pictures can induce epileptic seisures.

So, I'd like to believe that more people are just not watching much TV anymore. But somehow I doubt it's true.

You forgot sports. I got hooked on General Hospital my senior year but haven't watched them since. I LIKE reality shows because they are like, real. No hidden morality plays inside like 7TH Heaven (which I liked for a while) or even Star Trek (which I still like). I watch the reality shows and that's about it. My rabbit ears don't get good reception so my mother tapes them for me and I watch them again over the weekend.

I bought Firefly from Amazon.com. Neat show. I am tempted to go for BAbylon 5. I loved the first few seasons but lost interest after a while.

I don't have time for watching much TV anymore between here, work, and going to school at night now. I'm trying to get my BS degree in CIS. I just finished getting my MCSA and MCSE certs. Whenever I do though its either the the Discovery channel or the Discovery Health channel.

I thought about doing the University of Phoenix thing. Dunno how respected they are. No way I can go to school in town what with the animals and all. The UOP thing still takes four years though. Just teach me to be a network admin and I'll rollover into the IT dept and fix pc's. I like fixing things.

I though about the University of Phoenix myself the only thing that turned me off about them is they offer no hands on studies. All they do is discussion in study groups allot of reading and lecture.

If all you want to do is tech stuff all you really need is your A+ or net+ certs. You can get those in a matter of months if you put your mind to it. They cost very little to take also around $150 I believe.

Hmmm...I saw Firefly at the store the other day, and it was, what, only $39.99? I thought that was a good price for the whole series. And seeing as it has your stamp of approval ... And yeah, I'd like to get B5 as well. I like the show quite a bit back in the day. Also finished my DS9 collection this year. That was really my favorite show for a very long time.

So you might say: "See...you do like watching TV after all!" In which case you may be right, and yet not. I should have been more specific. I enjoy some shows, but prefer to watch movies or shows on DVD, without all the mindless drivel they call commercials, previews, newsbrakes, etc. The big wigs can keep their commercialism to themselves. I just want the stories.

I quit drinking sodas during the day and started walking my dog a lot. I have lost 20 lbs and am now hovering near 135.

Cough! Cough! Choke! Gasp! I looked at BAbylon 5 on amazon and it's almost $370! I would have paid the $40 I paid for Firefly. That would have made five seasons about $200. But almost $370? I'll have to think on this. Maybe one season a month which works out to be even MORE but not as big a hit on the wallet at one time.

well b5 is a -good- sci fi serries and there ARE episodes you'll proably want to watch again (such as the episode when the *censord* gets *Censord* and then *censord* happens its a really cool episode ... also you'll LOVE the episdoes where captin *cesnord* goes and *censord* and then the planet *censored* i mean its just AMAZING! and get this theres a *censored* in that planet!)

But yeah its a great show

anywas im really proud of this thread with all the replies :)

anyways heres tonights update:

Last night I lost the name Fox__Trot in the game subspace which has been my alias for some time now --- and since im out of idea's ive reverted back to my old alias "SnotGlass" which is just too silly these days so if anyone has an idea for an alias that WONT be taken (per say fox__Trot with the two underscores is -never- taken) so if you've got any ideas and wouldnt mind helping me pick a new one please list away

not that snotglass is ..bad.. its just well you know icky

About B5, it's also a very much longer series than Firefly. After all, Suncoast charges $140 for one season of Star Trek DS9 (which is an absolute ripoff if you ask me). So calculate that times seven seasons of DS9 and you get $980. Thankfully I wasn't stupid enough to buy it like that.

On a different note, I agree with the "in general tv sucks @$$."

As far as aliases go, I like to look up words in other languages and then pick something that sounds good and fits too. Mentis is a latin word, and I've stuck with it since about '96, when I first picked it.

Yeah, you need to get everything straightened out on your PayPal end first. Go into your account there and make sure that your bank account is verified. If you have any credit cards you want to use, add those to you PayPal account too. PayPal will walk you through those things, just need to look around there for those options.

Once that's all done, when you buy an item either by winning an auction or by using buyitnow, you can then procede to checkout if the seller accepts PayPal. At checkout you'll be able to login into your PayPal account and either use money in your bank accout (which is directly withdrawn) or use a credit or debit card. That's all there's to it!

In other words, no you don't need to have money IN PayPal.
