Parias
Uh, how does that large vessel expect to fit into the docking port of that station? *grin*As the average scientist from Half-Life says..."Yes... this all looks nominal. *sigh* Someone has hidden my glasses again..." ------------------ Parias ICV-Galatae ICQ:1293359 Staff member at www.tacticalplanet.com "I took this job because I love to blow sh*t up!" Joker_SE
Sorry for some criticism, but all, what I see outside the bridge is wery good, but the own bridge is not. Add some depth to the cocpit, please! Make it in 3D. It's my modest opinion.------------------ Best regards,Commander Joker_SE, GCV Gvendolen
Guest
Great Job, I love the VR setup with all the command readily available to the commander. The curvature of the display really gives you the feeling of being jacked into the computer via VR Visor.Joker_SE, as I understand it this is the Vitural Reality display not the bridge they are some screen shots in this site of the bridge. Guest Commander Hamblin
Hmm. Looks great and all, especially all those little circuitry you can see on the edges. But, when I get the game I'm still gonna be commanding from the good ol' normal Bridge. Or is this the ONLY way of commanding the ship? If so, then that's fine with me.But, it looks brilliant! Very cool. ------------------ Commander Hamblin GCV Galatea Second in command of the Orion Fleet. Tsunami battle group."For I dipt into the future, far as human eyes could see. Badgerius
I like the VR bridge concept. It opens some interesting possibilities. For example, while Galcom Vessels have a physical bridge, not all ships would have to. In fact, it would be better, from a combat survivability standpoint, if the command staff was scattered all over the ship, to reduce the possibility of one lucky hit taking out most of the senior officers.Does your persona have to be on the bridge to "plug in" to the bridgeviewer? Can he be, say hiding on the planet surface?------------------ Commander Badgerius, GCV Diligence On detached duty, GCV Calypso ICQ 48801556
Guest Commander Hamblin
I think what it is, is that you go to the Bridge on deck 2 (The bridge spans all 3 decks). Then you (the commander) would tell mother to activate the virtual thingymadoodle or press a button on a panel to activate the virtual thingymadoodle, and then you are in a small virtual thingymadoodle booth on the Bridge on deck 1.I think. I'm not too sure about this. ------------------ Commander Hamblin GCV Galatea Second in command of the Orion Fleet. Tsunami battle group."For I dipt into the future, far as human eyes could see. Supreme Cmdr
Hamblin is partially right. The commander does not have to be on the physical bridge (deck 1) to command. He can activate the VR surround from his Forward Command area (deck 2) as well as anywhere else (with limited options) by feeding the info to his VHU unit (that device you see on his face that looks like a targeting reticle). It is because of this VR display, that you no longer have a bridge bitmap that shows the other crew.heh, guys, thats only a prototype, its not even finished yet.
