Starting with the release of UC, I will be starting a new Beta program. In the past, I have made Beta pre-release patches available to the testers first, then made them available to the public. This is all going to change.

While Beta versions will still go to the testers first, they will only be made available to those in the public who have (a) registered their copy of UC (B) signed up in the Beta notification mailing list. Because you will need your game's CDKEY in order to download/install the patch, it is in your best interest to register your copy of the game upon purchase.

Is there going to be any kind of evolution in the bug reporting system, because public beta’s are a great way to get flooded with email about bugs that are already on the sheet, or are parent system issues. Will UC have an internal bug reporting program that will email the report to some server which will sort these out, or will it be up to the beta tester to verify that the bug has not been reported yet?

No. And when did this topic become an issue about bug reporting?

Perhaps I misunderstood the meaning of the word “Beta” in the context.
