LOD Tactics - General Tech Support FAQ

MOBILE VERSION

My game crashes during a mission:

Usually this means there is not enough memory available on your device. Please check your device specs to make sure it has enough memory to run the game. System requirements for different platforms can been seen here: http://lodmmo.com/tactics/

  • Try restarting your device before playing. This will clear your device memory
  • Try lowering the game's graphics quality settings. Start the game, select the Options menu, select Quality and pick "Fastest" from the list. 
  • Android: Check your device for any widgets or apps that might always be running and taking up memory.
  • iOS: If your device is jailbroken there could be apps that are always running and taking up memory. We cannot support jailbroken devices as these apps might not follow Apple's design standards and could interfere with the normal operation of the device.

My game is frozen. How do I restart it?

  1. iOS
  • Press the home button to return to the home screen, then double click the home button to bring up the multitasking menu
  • iOS 7 or newer: Scroll to the LOD Tactics image and swipe up on it to remove it from the list. This will quit the game
  • iOS 6 or older: Hold on the LOD Tactics icon that appears in the multitasking bar (along the bottom of the screen) until the icons wiggle and show an X. Press the X above the LOD Tactics icon to quit. 
  1. Android
  • Press the home button to return to the home screen. Press the Recent Apps button to bring up images of recent apps, swipe up or left on the LOD Tactics image to quit.
  • (alternate method): Press the home button to return to the home screen. Open the Settings app. Scroll down to Apps and select Apps. Find LOD Tactics in the list of apps and select it. Select Force Stop.

If none of these methods work, restarting your device will also close the game.


My game runs slow/choppy on some missions:

A low framerate means that the device is not fast enough to keep up with the game. If the game runs slow/choppy on all missions then the device does not meet the minimum requirements. If it runs show/choppy only on some missions then you can try the following:

  • Try restarting your device before playing. This will clear your device memory and turn off any running apps.
  • Try lowering the game's graphics quality settings. Start the game, select the Options menu, select Quality and pick "Fastest" from the list. 

I cannot make purchases such as unlocking missions or buying extra CEP:

  • Check your internet connection, purchases require that your device is connected to the internet.
  • iOS: Make sure you are logged into your app store account (in the Settings app) and can make purchases in the app store or in other apps. 
  • Android (Google Play): Make sure you are logged into your Google Play account and can make purchases in the Google Play or in other apps.
  • Android (Amazon): Make sure you are logged into your Amazon account and can make purchases in the Amazon Appstore or in other apps.

How do I save my game to the cloud to continue on another device?

In order to save your game to the cloud, you will need to have a Facebook account and connect that account to the game.

  • Make sure that your device has Facebook setup in it's settings or by installing the Facebook app.

iOS 7+: Open the Settings App, scroll down to Facebook and select it, login with your Facebook account if you are not already logged in.

  • When the game starts for the first time you will see a login window presented with 2 options, one of which is Facebook. If you select the Facebook option your game will automatically be saved to the cloud. 
  • From the Main Menu, select Options, then select Stats. This will bring up a leaderboards/achievements stats window. Select Settings from this window (top right) and then Connect to Facebook. Restart the game to ensure your progress is saved. 

How do I load my game from the cloud?

Cloud saves are automatically saved and loaded on any device that is connected to your Facebook account.

If you reinstall the game or install it on a new device, log in with your Facebook account by selecting the Facebook icon that appears when the game starts. This will automatically download the save game to this device.


I am having issues with my cloud save


Typically issues with cloud save occur when your Facebook account is not setup on the device/connected to the game or if a different Facebook account is logged in (which will create a new save).

If you have multiple people sharing your device, check which Facebook account is connected to the device.

iOS 7+: Go to the Settings App, scroll down to Facebook and select it. Check if you are logged in with your account.


I installed the game on a new device but I have already purchased a campaign or mission. Do you I have to buy it again?

No, as long as the new device is on the same platform (iOS, Google Play, AmazonMobile, etc) then you can restore your purchase. Start the game, select Options from the main menu, select Restore Transactions.


How to I restart the game and erase my save game?

From the Main Menu select Options, then select Reset Game. This will delete your save game on the device as well as delete the save game in the cloud.


How do I check my score/achievements?


From the Main Menu select Options, then select Stats.

WINDOWS VERSION

I cannot make purchases such as buying extra CEP


Purchases of additional CEP is not supported on Windows at this time.


How do I switch between fullscreen and windowed mode?


Press ALT+ENTER on the keyboard


How do I change the screen resolution of the game?

  • Hold down the SHIFT key on your keyboard when double clicking on the game's icon to start it. Hold the button down until you see the Line Of Defense Configuration window. 
  • Then select the screen resolution and fullscreen/windowed setting. The game does not support resolutions smaller than 1024x768. 

MAC OSX VERSION

I cannot make purchases such as unlocking missions or buying extra CEP

  • Check your internet connection, purchases require that your Mac is connected to the internet.
  • Make sure you are logged into your Mac App Store account. Open the Mac App Store and select Sign In from the Store menu.
