The actual prophesy requires the Jewish temple to be REBUILT during Antichrist's reign -not destroyed- so the Antichrist can defile it. Actual prophesy dictates he must be murdered and then resurrected by Satan. Actual prophesy requires Isreal to be attacked from the NORTH prior to Antichrist's reign - not the south. I could go on here, but suffice to say, most historians apparently agree with me. I think the historians you refer to are guilty of trying to fit the prophesy to Nero, rather than the other way around. The problem is that, to do so, you'd have to completely ignore OTHER prophesies. How can you say that prophesy 1 is right while 2 is wrong? You either have to take or discard it ALL. However, I will say this: the day 6/6/06 means absolutely nothing. It happens every 100 years.

I'm secure enough in being secure in my masculinity to say that I outright refused my wife's request that I watch this movie with her. She told me that it would be alright; that it was just a love story... blah... blah... So where were you? Many of us were right here. I bring this up thinking that, with the movies and the fifth anniversary approaching, maybe we should reflect upon what once was. And although that thread perhaps devolved into something less than was intended, it showed a very raw side of the emotions experienced that day. I found it quite interesting that, no matter who we were, the color of our skin, our religion, sex, race, age, etc., many of us were right here on that day. What's my point? I don't know ... maybe it's an odd way of explaining why once I returned to the States and hopped online, this community was my first stop.

Back on topic... The better half and I went to The Da Vinci Code on Sunday, and my advice is as follows: Wait for the DVD, watch the film, remove the disc, crack it in half and slice your wrists with it. Believe me, you'll want to.(Note: Aramike does not condone anyone slicing their wrists, he's just sayin'.) Now for the nuts and bolts to this yawner. First, I have to say that I'm one of 58 people left in the world who haven't read the book. And the other 57 are in third world countries. Despite that, I can say with certainty that the book is more entertaining. The movie's plot was slow and plodding, Tom Hanks' character had absolutely no depth, and the dialogue was as dry and technical as a History Channel special on the combustion engine. It got so bad that during the latter half of the movie there seemed to be about 30+ minutes of so little happening that one could literally hear every throat clear and every squirm in the packed theater. Very simply, take away the hype, the God-awful screenplay and dialogue, the overly-technical and long plot elements, and the people who think that this is a work of non-fiction, and you MIGHT have a good movie. Maybe. 4/10
