  1. As soon as the first volley impacted her hull the lead Aestrom switched targets and opened fire on the Andromeda as she closed range. Missiles arched from the Aestrom and raced for the lumbering carrier. On board the carrier Smyth grabbed the console in front of him to steady himself as the ship rocked from the Aestrom's inital volley. "Incoming missiles!" called LT CMDR Talla from her station "EMD activated!" "Bring us to a new heading, 45 degree left turn and a 10 degree dive" Commanded Smyth as the incoming missiles started to waver from their course. The missiles majoritively missed the massive ship but one impacted about half way along the starboard launch runway, the explosion was felt on the bridge as the ship rocked. "Fatal designate that ship and prepare to fire!" called Smyth as he made his way back to his command chair, "Helm reverse your turn hard to starboard!"
  2. Thanx guys and girls(we do have some right?) Mother and soon came home yesterday and are doing well. Both send their appreciation for your kind words.
  3. I have a nice ASUS AS7V333 board here going cheap(ish) - will run the new 3000+ chips that are now appearing and supports DDR 2700 RAM
  4. You could send boarding parties in the Star Trek Command series of games. You send em in by transporter - come to think of it you could board and control ships in Star Trek Armada too.

I have a mix of "The Best of Babylon 5" and "Robotech" soundtracks. Makes for great playing. Especially when "there's something out there" and the Zentradi theme starts playing... Menacing, threatening, mysterious. I'm trying to find other Sci-Fi movie/tv soundtracks to add. Starwars just doesn't work, though... Nor does star trek. Nope but Battlestar Galactica can be quite rousing!
  7. As the Invader left Mars orbit James ordered the Andromeda follow, cloaked. Silently the massive carrier followed the ship as she jumped towards Majoris. As the ship approached her destination the crew of the Andromeda returned to their posts and slowly the slumbering, massive ship awoke. As the Invader emerged in the Majoris system the Andromeda's four IC craft were ready in her launch bays. Their engines primed for a fast launch. James smirked as he realised he was correct to have them ready. He watched as a number of Aestrom class ships decloaked in front of the Invader and a PTA shot crossed her bow. He was not surprised when the Galcom fleet de-cloaked, it would be wise of Commander Jason to have brought support, and he was kind of relieved as the Andromeda and the Invader would have been out gunned otherwise. James stood up from his command chair. "Alright lets join the fray!" Commanded James "Ahead half speed target the lead Aestrom and tell the fighters to engage target 1 also!" The lumbering form of the Andromeda emerged from cloak as her fighters screamed from her launch bays. Her PTA turrets quickly found their target and opened fire. In strict formation her 4 fighters raced along the hull of the lead Aestrom, they fired at whatever target of opportunity they could find as the Andromeda drew ever closer continuing her punishing barrage against her foe.
  8. quote:Originally posted by LostInSpace: Congrats on the future newbie Earthling. One very important question though. Since you have one kid and another one on the way and a wife not to mention your occupation WHERE ON EARTH DO YOU GET YOUR FREE TIME TO PLAY BCMG or anything else besides? You must get a lot of cold stares from your wife as you sit glued to that monitor..... Actually my wife well knows and understands my computer obsession. We have been together now for 12 years and she well understands, I'll admit we have some serious discussions about it at first but she will have no problem with me going on the computer once I help her out a bit first. Mostly I get to play once the kids are in bed. I am very lucky she is very understanding and a great person I'd be lost without her.
  9. Ok sorry I'm a bit late posting this but better late than never. At 16:50 GMT on the 12/06/2003 the latest edition to our family was born. Weighing in at a healthy 7 pounds 2 ounces little Eoin James Hendrick was born by C section. Mother and baby are both doing well and we are pround to announce his arrival (and happy to anounce that after a brain scan he does not have the same condition as our second child, who is 2/3rd's brain damaged.) Eoin joins his two older Brothers Glenn(aged 3) and Daire(aged 1) and means that life in out house should definatly not be boring in the future! So Beers are on me! Cigars are in a box down the back.
  10. Ah Jag thats SOOoooo sweet! belated happy fathers day to all the dads out there.
  11. quote:Originally posted by Spindoktor: I feel your pain... Speaking of intruding Mr. Windows. Whats the best way to disable the windows key in XP? I have hit the windows key by mistake while aiming for the alt key (for mouse toggling) more than once and BCMG dun like the windows key. Putting it in the accessibility options would have made sense, but noooooooo. If I remember right(not at my XP machine at the moment) but you can turn off the windows key for applications in XP. IIRC its in the properties for the shortcut to the program. I'll check tonight and post again later.
  12. The Andromeda sat silently orbiting Mars. Her silent but very deadly form deceptively quiet. Two Ic's buzzed her dim flight deck patroling for any sign of enemy activity in the system. Smyth had parked the Giant carrier 1000Km off the orbiting ODS system, now the slumbering godess and her crew waiting for contact from Commander Jason or Kalshion, in the meantime the crew were enjoying some well deserved down time!
  13. "Mother-In-Law" ARgh No the insanity of it all Thank you for a VERY nasty mental image ARGH
  14. Well I read the first couple of lines and then closed it down. Yes people are entitled to their opinions but they should be unbiased and informed. Not close minded and judgemental. How he can complain about a problem that is well documented on the forums here and in fact had nothing to do with SC(The intro not playing) means that he really did not bother. If he had bothered he would have found a community more than willing to offer support and assistance. I'm going to stop now as that person is not worth wasting any more of my (or anyone else's) time on.
  15. Welcome to the fleet and the wing.
  16. James was more confused after he read Cmdr Jason's response. "Sir the Invader is moving off!" "Follow them I have a feeling things are about to get worse!"
  17. With a Flash the massive frame of the Andromeda emerged from the Lyrius/Pluto wormhole. "Sir I have the Invader on scanners" Puzzled James opened the com line "Commander Jason would you mind telling me what is going on. Galcom have you listed as MIA!"
  18. ROTFLMAO nice to hear from the other side of the fence!
  19. "All stations report ready to depart SIR!" Snapped LT CMDR Talla. "Very good" replied James with a smile, he had clock watched the crew preparations for departure and was please to note another reduction in time taken! He turned from where he stood, looking out the bridge window, and returned to his command chair. "Then take us out!" he ordered. Outside the ship in the docking bay repair and maintenance shuttles scrambled to get clear of the hulking capitol ship. While on the bridge the chatter of the crew rose as each station reported in. The Andromeda's running lights illuminated her great hull and her two lengthy launch runways were illumated. The docking arm which had been used to ferry personnel and equipment to and from the slumbering behemouth was withdrawn as the great goddess awoke. With a thunderous roar Andromeda's engines ignited. The roar subsided slightly but quickly rose again as power was applied and the Ship slowly made her path towards the docking bay doors. The doors silently slid open as she thundered her way towards them and she gracefully escaped the confines of the docking bay and back to the freedom of space. "We are clear and free to navigate sir. Hyperdrive engine on full charge!" "Best speed to Pluto then!" The lumbering goddess slowed for a moment before she was enveloped by the azure dance of hyperspace.
  20. Smyth sat quietly reading in his quarters on the Andromeda. He had been somewhat bemused by all the excitement around HQ recently but the Andromeda's restock had taken longer than expected, plus that his chief engineer had detected a flaw in the nuclear reactor that had held them up even longer. Grudgingly Smyth had let the Invader leave Wraith HQ alone. Still repairs were almost done and the re-supply was well finished. The door chime snapped him back to the moment and he jumped slightly in his chair. "Come it!" he called to his unseen visitor. The door hissed open and LT Commander Talla stood at the door, she quickly stepped inside. "Ah LT commander whats our status?" James Queried putting his book on the desk. "Chief engineer reports repairs are complete sir, he's just waiting a supply of Radine from the station and all crew members have reported back on board. including medical office Meagher Sir!" James smiled at the last section of the report, he had missed Geraldine while she was away, more than he wanted to admit. He had time to think while she was gone. But time for that later. "Is that it?" Smyth Queried as Talla shuffled nervously in front of him. "No Sir!" "Well spit it out Lootenant!" he commanded "Its the Invader Sir, Galcom command report that they have lost all contact with them. HQ records them jumping to Pluto but they have not arrived at Earth. Galcom HQ has sent ships to the Pluto region but there is no sign of them sir!" "Thats impossible" James proclaimed "Yes Sir but I have the reports here!" James head spun as he scanned the reports, this was not possible, how could a ship get lost between here and Galcom. If she was destroyed they're would be debirs! There should be something! "LT Commander contact HQ tell them to get that Radine here ASAP! Prepare the ship for departure! I want to leave in the next 20 minutes!" "Aye Sir!" the woman snapped quickly saluting him, turning on her heel and exiting the room. James alone in his quarters walked over to the window and gazed out at the docking bay beyond "What could have happened them!"

  23. nice review at least he gave it an honest chance and understood BC for what it is!
  24. It got canned! EDIT: ok so that was possibly a bit rude so to quote the SC quote: Originally posted by Supreme Commander: Battlecruiser Tactical Command** as a separate title has been cancelled and elements of that product are being integrated in GCE and BCO. Hope this helps a bit better!
  25. All the best see ya when you get back!
