  1. 'Make that 2 bricks!!' One stuppid question though. What's that circular big thing above the 'engineering' marking. Looks like an airlock of something but that doesn't really make sense. Unless ofcourse for the failing forcefields situation, but I'll just stick to the question and let SC awnser. Rico
  2. Mmediic!!! Hit me with a brick, 'cause I'm freaking out of joy here. I almost tried to jump inside my screen. Man, what a view. (PII 400MHz is on it's way, now all I need is a 3d card, and it's freakin' again) Thanks SC, Rico
  3. quote:Kordians quote:Dr.Gonzo quote:Dr.Terrence Mckenna Don't know what you're talking about but stay of the dope and go somewhere else with it. Rico
  4. quote:A Blonde was missing Totally agree with that. SC, I just tried out the old 1992/3 BC3K demos, what happend to those bab..err good looking female bridge officers. Any chance for a reapperance in 3020? Rico
  5. quote:...out of an airlock in his undies. Ok, maybe stuppid question, Boss. But would it have the textured model too? Rico (5 min later) WAIT! Don't awnser that one. Because it could be a swell easter egg. [This message has been edited by Rico Jansen (edited 04-12-99).] [This message has been edited by Rico Jansen (edited 04-12-99).]
  6. Sorry for the 3D thing again: quote:The radar 'bubbles' are shaded... Well, I guess I won't get around it then, hey. All you just told implies that operating the thing makes it more 'complicated' than the game allready is. Which is GREAT ofcourse, cause I LIKE tough cookies. So, if some one in the furture is going to say this game is hard, then let the man/woman consider themselves as a real Naval Commander. Though the real one doesn't have to push the buttons I think his 'worries' are way bigger than anyones. In short: 'Great SC!' Rico 'V_ger' Jansen
  7. I won't make a big deal out of it not having or getting a 3d card soon but I hope I'm still in time to make a little sugestion regarding the bridge viewer. I don't know (who would) whether the center radar display gets a similar look in 3020 but if, can you make those dots representing radarblips a little bit smaller. In 3000, objects that are rather close to each other appear as the same blip. I would understand that for long range blips but for short range it sort of looks like a WO2 radar. Just my tiny question, Rico 'V_ger' Jansen
  8. Yeah, I guess your right. As allways (sigh) Rico 'V_ger' Jansen
  9. SC wrote: quote:(a 3D card is required) I hate to say this but you asked for it: 'There goes my apetite.' Though BC3020 isn't out yet, I don't think I'll be getting a 3d card anytime this year. Appart from this, the viewer looks gentle. (a little 'ST Next Generation'-like) I like it. So did I with the new computer screens (tactical/logistics) Rico 'V_ger' Jansen [This message has been edited by Rico Jansen (edited 04-04-99).]
  10. Yeehhhaaa!!!! More places to make money. ( a little piece of advertisement on making money : www.bc3000ad.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/000034.html ) So, let me see if I get this straight - There's no 'law of conservation of matter (or energy)'? - Inflation levels are not static and could change? You need to check up upon stations as time goes by to see if trading runs are still profitable. (or save) - You can besiege a station letting it consume up it's resources? (man, I'm really starting to think like a Ferengi) Reading all this it seems to me patience IS the magic word with this game. 11. Sometimes I get thefeeling the SC implemented 'First Person'-playing in BC3020 primarily because of Tac and the airlock. Cmdr. Rico 'V_ger' Jansen [This message has been edited by Rico Jansen (edited 03-25-99).]
  12. Beer and Voice command Battlecruiser? No, I think that might indeed be like looking at bumperstickers. (IMHO) But what do I know about voice recognition. I'm no programmer and I know even less about that kind of data management. But what I do know (=remember I read it) is that BC30(2/0)0 AD has a couple of artificial neurons modelled into it. (part of the AI engine if I'm not mistaken, SC) And I do know that in 1987 some people at the John Hopkins University, Baltimore did the reverse; text to phoneme/voice transformation with a artif. neural network model driving a phoneme chip. And an artificial neural network is known for it's abilities to work with high noise level data. But maybe this is yet not something for 3020. this technology is still very young. Though it holds promise anyway. And you may still very well need a P-IV chip. Rico Jansen [This message has been edited by Rico Jansen (edited 03-16-99).]
  13. Well, maybe a BC3020 AD Acrobat reader plug-in wouldn't be such a strange idea. Then the search option wouldn't be so far away. As for right clicking, I might have another use. How about an 'Personal/Captains log', or in this case, a 'Personal/Commanders log' where you can insert you own messages (to remind yourself doing things later on: like a timer, for example: RTFM every minute) among that of the crew. I must admit I never used things like logs in MS FS5.1 or other games/sims but with this game things can get very hactic. Or you could makes yourself a grocery list for use at Tradcom. From one forgetfull commander, Rico Jansen
  14. Lemmings? How about a gang of lined up 'one-eyed Paulies' set to self destruct?
  15. I want to add to Tac's idea (of many) the idea of timed launch. Launching the IC, SC, ATV (transporter) by the minute. I mean this doesn't have to be such a major thing, I think. Just include a time mark with the waypoint (Tacops).
  16. Have you thought about this. It's one way to prevent your opponents (in multiplay) to launch an all out war on you. It would choke up the whole server(s). But it would be a great cloak alternative to use a star background camoflage. Profided you send along the texture too.
  17. Does the med officer also cure RSI? (repetitive strain injuries)
