  1. Do you guys ever read before you post? Roberto, may I direct your attention three posts back (to the mesaage from Cruis. In, 08-18-2002, 06:23 PM)?
  2. Update: If you got an error like "connection refused", you should use one of the servers of the server list instead of just gamesnet.net. For example, use IRC.EU.GamesNET.net if you happen to live somewhere in Europe... Best regards. [ 08-16-2002, 03:28 AM: Message edited by: Gudihl ]

  5. Now, that's some controversal topic. Germany, where I live, is the last country in europe w/o any speed limit on the superhighway (is that the correct word? Here we call such a road "Autobahn"). That means, I am able to drive as fast as 230 kph (about 140 mph) with my car under optimal circumstances, i.e. empty road, good sight. OTOH, the speed recommendation on such roads is 130 kph (about 80 mph), and trucks are limited to 80 kph (about 50 mph). Even with sport brakes it is some real challenge, if a car starts to speed up past a truck right before you, to brake from, say, 160 kph (100 mph) down to 80 kph (50 mph). Now, if it's rainig, this becomes highly risky! So, even while driving some kind of fast car, I would be the first to sign a public-opinion poll for a speed limit to 130 kph (80 mph) on our superhighways. Btw., within cities, speed limit in Germany is 50 kph (about 30 mph), and outside, on highways, 100 kph (about 60 mph). Trucks are limited to 60 kph (37 mph) on highways. Everybody is driving some 10 to 20 kph (6 to 12 mph) too fast anyway. So, think about it: while Germany may sound like some speed paradise to some of you, remember that driving (too) fast is very, very risky: you need about 10 m to stop from 50 kph, and 38 m to stop from 100 kph, but you need about 154 m to stop from 200 kph. Not funny at all if you drive into a traffic jam. Best regards.
  6. Heh, talk about rhetoric questions... Oh, btw., the answer is: yes! [ 06-21-2002, 05:24 PM: Message edited by: Gudihl ]
  7. The topic says it all... ... oh, btw. - I am now married. Best regards.
  8. Here you can see my wife. Btw., ensign Smith, are you happened to be married to yourself? If not, you can show us a picture from yourself in your profile anytime... Dismissed! [ 06-03-2002, 04:46: Message edited by: Gudihl ]
  9. Well, Daggerfall used to be "abandonware", and was available at "The Underdogs", but not anymore. Ask Bethesda Softworks, maybe they send you some CD... Hmm, if you find it nevertheless, try some utility called "VDMSound", and you will find it running quite well under Windows NT/2000/XP. Best regards. [ 05-29-2002, 12:40: Message edited by: Gudihl ]

  13. quote: Okay. So where can I get better drivers? As you can read in the BCM Troubleshooting FAQ in the Video Issues section, you can find those drivers for example at Guru3d.com. Those guys over there even give some recommendations using smilies... Best regards.
  14. quote: btw 23.11 are not the latest OFFICIAL driversSorry, have to object. I just checked www.nvidia.com, and (at least for Windows 95/98/ME, and 2000/XP) the detonator 23.11 are indeed the latest official drivers: www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=windows9x www.nvidia.com/view.asp?PAGE=windows2000 Best regards. 15. If you ever happened to see a scenery like the one shown in the mid shot, I think you are down to 10 fps on an "average" computer (like mine: 900 MHz, GeForce 2 Pro). Just eye candy. We will see how the game really feels, beyond the optics... [ 02-28-2002, 01:16: Message edited by: Gudihl ]
  16. Very nice, I like it. Reminds me of those classic Roman Empire movies or the likes. Best regards.
  17. Geldonyetich: Unable to reproduce (on Win2K Pro). Sorry. Game runs fine here. Possibly memory problems on your side. Edit: Try setting virtual memory to at least 766 MB with your 512 MB RAM. I have set it to 766 - 1029. OTOH, you have to set virtual memory to smaller caps for certain games like NFS 5, Porsche unleashed. At least for Win2K (Pro). Just my 2c. Best regards.
