  1. Yeah well. Thats sad event. I'm sure there was better alternative than tasering him. Here's but this is Finland and its not university student. Two shopping mall guards beat a dude for some. (requires youtube-registration due the violence in the video). -v PS. Marine, you can make shorter links with the 'URL'-button in the full edit form. Just paste the URL in the first question window and the link's displayname on the other.
  2. Me thinks they're both corporatocrats(Bush'n'Bloomberg). -v
  3. Looks like Bush wasn't a conservative after all, according to The American Conservative magazine. -v
  4. I think Jaguar is right about the gridlock thing. Very few things will get on now, if even nothing -v
  5. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: OK, so where's the oil? If it was liberation of resources, WHERE IS IT!!!! LoL, I have no slightest idea, but I'd guess its still on the road since the war didn't go according the plan? Again, this is just blindshooting without any evidence, but how to explain those decreased unemployment rates that Bush was advertising? Are those perhaps because of war? Jobs in military or directly connected in it? I was again bit inaccurate when I mentioned resources, I also meant that it was for ensuring US economic growth. -v
  6. Whatever. I made my point on my first post on this thread. Joining army knowing that you'll end up killing people outbroads and get paid for it is just wrong IMO. You know when I was younger, I went into military, ended up as sergeant. I did it because I'm ready to defend my country against possible invaders. But I would never ever enter another country in purpose of invasion, no matter what the pretext is. Do you really think that "liberation" of Iraqi people is the real purpose behind Iraq war? I'd rather say that it was because of liberation of resources, or why previous governments of yours never cared about humanitarian issues in Iraq or elsewhere. I can't but agree with Kerry on this matter, rather educate yourself than go invading foreign countries. -v
  7. quote:Originally posted by aramike: Umm, actually, I'm an avid student of history. While I'm not quite sure what you mean about this so-called "true past" of yours, I do agree that it was chock full of dark and bloody things. Far moreso than today is. Yet another benefit of people fighting and dying for good causes. But I'm sure you probably don't grasp that concept... By its nature, history is something that cannot be researched explicitly, like we can do research on most natural sciences. Of course, the results of historical events are to be seen to everyone, but the true events leading in results often remains elusive. History research is merely making assumptions, some based on better documentary, some worse. You should know all that if you're history student. And thats also why I make a distinction between true past and history. -v
  8. quote:Originally posted by aramike: Or we can all just use your line of thinking and be so tunnel-visioned into attempting to make reality fit your vision of the world that you can't even see the world for what it is... Oh dear, I think I'm so offended now Anyways, I dont know if this is old stuff, but it sure is interesting. It's a HBO documentary film about those electronical voting systems, and it claims that they are not to be trusted. I haven't yet seen the end of that doc because those damn google videos aren't buffering very well at the moment... -v
  9. I wouldn't say that it matters much. Maybe there will now be some investigations and stuff, but I bet it'll be much the same... -v
  10. I'd guess that the reason why elections in US are often dirty because their politics are it aswell. More you can blame the other, more you have chances of success by yourself. Discusting. I guess you can call an university professor a nutcase anytime, they often don't have a clue about anything... -v
  11. If you would know more about the true past, you wouldn't be so optimistic about it. Its full of dark and bloody things, and it would be about time to step out of that road. -v
  12. quote:Originally posted by Kalshion: Voli0 While I might just be misinterpreting your reply, I would kindly suggest that you not accuse our military of having soldiers who just join for the money, there are a lot more who join for college and to make the military a career for them. In case you clearly forgot there are other branches of the military that do not revolve around fighting. And Voli0, that first line text kind of kills your arguement: If you where uneducated, you wouldn't know what proud means, because you wouldn't know how to READ or WRITE, further more, being uneducated, you wouldn't know the first thing about right or wrong, so you wouldn't know weather killing someone was a good idea or not. Example: Just take a look at the bad area's of your town where you have children who are not in school yet have guns, those children are mostly uneducated and rarely know how to speak the language or how to write. Due to that they don't even know wheather there actions are good or not and being uneducated, they wouldn't know wheather they would be proud of themselves or disappointed or weather this was right or wrong. I was referring to the statement that was said out loud here previously, that many ppl uses military service as stepping stones to fund their education. Well, there's also work on McDonalds... What comes to the non-violent posts in army, doesen't they all still exist to support this system of violence? quote:Originally posted by aramike: quote:Originally posted by Voli0: I'd rather starve and remain uneducated than take up arms and go kill people. I wouldn't be very proud to say that I kill people for money. -v It's amazing that the people who take up arms and "kill people" are the people who fought and died to grant you the rights to spew such rubbish as that unappreciative post. I guess all of human history must have passed you by and not allowed you to understand that the freedoms you CLEARLY take for granted are not there "just because". People fought and killed and died for it. Oh, and they got paid what amounts to a pittance for it. Well, history is as it is. There's no way that I could've affected in it, so what should I be grateful for? Should I accept killing because it may have prevented more serious crimes? Should I accept it just because it has happened before? I wonder how many soldiers are soldiers because of its 'nobility', and not because of money and pure barbarism? In my opinion, justifying killing with 'noble purposes' of liberation or freedom is just another way to make one capable to live with it. All excuses. I wonder if we'll fight fire with fire 'till we all burn? -v [ 11-07-2006, 07:07 PM: Message edited by: Voli0 ]
  13. Nice, US is truly a land of the free because it seems that you can do almost anything when it comes to election tactics: http://www.gseis.ucla.edu/courses/ed253a/blogger.php -v PS. Check out the story dated on monday, November 06, 2006 if you're puzzled.

    Ok dudes..

I'm not intelligent enough to be banned! Beware! Bye Horse, you were refreshing visitor, tho you typed every line with space in between them, that was bit annoying IMO -v
  16. quote:Originally posted by Voli0: quote:Originally posted by aramike Work hard ... be smart ... get ahead in life. Like I said, this conspiracy stuff is nonsense. No proof = nothing. Get ahead in life, for what? We are but falling leaves(as to quote some artist), all paths leads to the cemetary. So, one guy called Adolf Hitler wrote Mein Kampf where he poses his ideas of racial purity and all kind of nonesense. Then about half century later dozens of guys wrote stuff like PNAC hoping for catalysing events like Pearl Harbor... Well, you don't have to get hit with the bat to know that it'll hurt. -v That was just a feeling, and feelings aren't necessarily logical... That wasn't meant to be a any sort of intellectual statement. -v
  17. quote:Originally by Wolferz Jack Thompson will be frustrated by this one, due to the fact that he can't blame it on a video game. ROTFLMAO haha, indeed. I almost think that perperator should've use hammer instead of gun... too hi-tech you see. -v

  19. And now the amish people in Pennsylvania have gone mad. Guy shot girls in the school. News in here reported guy's wife telling that he was perfect husband, loving and caring, not the same person that shot the girls. -v
  20. quote:Originally posted by Jaguar: Dude, if you are going to debate right wingers, which I am proudly one, bring facts, historical precedent, and leave your emotions at the door. I'd wonder what will the facts, historical or real, help? There is always a method to turn them into a perverted conspiracy mongering BS. If I bring you with some statistic, you'd doubt the credibility of the author or you'd just blame statistic inaccuracy or whatever twist in reality that comes in mind. Anyway, Grizzle just linked a page(above) which explains a lot IMO as well. Same d00ds with those crazy ideas(Wolfowitz as Leo Strauss' pupil have seen forthcoming destruction of morale of american's unless something is done) are now in highest positions of power. And you wonder why? -v
  21. This conversation proposes that religion is a nationality. We should talk about arabs(or what ever races lives in that area) and the other, that were invading THEIR land. Arab can be muslim, christian, buddhist or atheist.. It is perverted to talk about muslim and christian lands for there are none. -v
  22. quote: Originally by Cruis. In sometimes i wish i could just be single playing away my life in my old bedroom, is that so bad? I've thought of that aswell too.. many, many times. -v
  23. IMO Procedural programming will be only reasonable solution on creating huge contents on space sims like that(or Derek's games). What I fail to see is how it will work on multiplayer context. What if two players meet each others on same planet, but both will get different view of the planet's surface? Anyway, seems like funny game, good to see another attempt to create a perfect space sim. Im looking forward to see some trailers and demos. -v
  24. I dunno much about scientology, but IMO it'd be pure and utter crap like any other religion. When belief becomes a doctrine, something goes wrong. When belief of one man becomes belief of many, we're going woods. Furthermore, when one religion thinks that other religions are wrong and unacceptable, we're in serious trouble. Most chruches(be it christian or any other) are meant to fool people, to take their money and make the leading people of the church wealthy. If they're not for exploitation of people's wealth, then they're to control them. Give away religions, think a bit with your own brains and find the true God. -v
