Commander Blake

You start looking for the logistix, tactical, etc. under your start menu. You point your watch at annoying people thinking you have a wristlaser on. the reactor core breaches and you run for a shuttle(in real life). You start thinking your signifgant other sounds alot like the computer voice/bridge officer/warning klaxon. (might get in trouble for this one) YOu start staying home on sundays wishing to worship SC instead of your religious figure. You stare blankly at the screen for hours...waiting for the mining drones to finish mining...even if the game crashes. You try to activate your jetpack at school, not realizing it's just an ordinary backpack. You start calling terrorists insurgents. You dream in tacops(I've actually done this) your hand is permanantly shaped to your mouse/keyboard/joystick... Your starting to run out of hair from all the crashes/deaths/radiation. You order the pilot of your plane flight to fly you to centris, so you can mine some radine... you order your pets to start repairs on critical systems. You have a full uniform/working spacesuit You carry your manual with you all the time along with a printed version of the appendix, the current VCF, the current faq, and the EULA. You start to hear encoded messages from your standard issue galcom nural node. You wonder why the doctor doesn't check you out for Gammulan Fever. geez..I could go on forever...ok one more you threaten to RANDOM a prisoner's homeworld if he/she doesn't tell you the secret location of the Insurgent base. well, thats all, I might make up some more [ 11-27-2001: Message edited by: Commander Blake ]

really, I did not know, i was asking a question, I probably shoulda said Is 12% the border between red and yellow...and SC, i'm not asking for gameplay tips, I"m sorry, on my end of things, after reading the manual, and everything, this really does look like a bug to me, sorry if it's not, if something screwy just happened, that is only on my comp or something along those lines, I'm sorry...I'll go with your better judgement and leave it at this...thank you SC for pointing out this is just a false alarm... Ok, Gallion, like I said before, my main computer is destroyed, which means I can't access Logistics outside of the station, which means, if your right, I can't repair it, I"m pretty sure that would be a bug...

ok, I'm on a station, you would think that if i"m docked to a station they would have some way to get to it to repair it... oh and it's just these things, I had other things that were damamged that repaired just fine, like my guest quarters, and my logisics computer, but the main computer is destroyed, so I can't repair outside of the station... umm, update, I just noticed(wasn't important at the time but) that both of my turret arrays are destroyed down to 12% and my life support and main computer are at 12% too, hmm, I can't repair any of them, maybe a bug with the borders or something, isn't like 12% the border between damaged and destroyed?...(yellow and red) if so, that may be a problem with repairing stuff...just a theory though...I happen to code a bit myself, but not anything on this scale

heh, I know it was destroyed, and I even bought the new system(expensive) but it wont let me repace it or repair it...I"m not new to BC..

*sigh*, I posted this once, I guess it didn't post or got deleted or something, if I got deleted I don't know what for. But I can not repair my life support system, or my main computer, I've had this problem before, but I couldn't make it to a station, this time I did, and even after buying all the spare parts I need, I couldn't repair the thing, in the station or out, both buttons are greyed out,I've tried everything I can think of, I've restarted the game, the computer, and I havn't found anything else in the forums about this...Ok, now the specs 1.2ghz AMD athlon 512mb ram 40 gig hd geforce 2 mx 200400 21.83 drivers ALI audio wave sound card (not sure about drivers) generic mouse intelletype keyboard sidewinder force feedback 2 kds flatscreen monitor dx 8.1 thats about it, I hope it posts this time/doesn't get deleted, please give me a reason if it does get deleted [ 11-24-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

this was after the beta patch, I just d/led the final patch...havn't even tried it yet... and I have dx 8.1 too...ment to include it last time, sorry.

Mel, I too had this prob where my char disappeared, and it happened a couple times with my cc, all I had to do was something that reloaded the, char model, for the cc, I cloaked and uncloaked, it was fine, for the char, all I did was pull out a weapon, and it was fine... Hope this helps mel and SC. btw, just in case you want to know winME 1.2ghz AMD athlon geforce 2 mx 200/400 with 21.83 driver 512 megs ram generic mouse (came with the comp and has no labels at all on it) unknown soundcard, but that probably doesnt matter for this(I bought this from a friend not to long ago, and he didn't tell me what's all in it, I"m still trying to figure out what's in this comp... 40 gig hd.. thats about it Thanks SC [ 11-24-2001: Message edited by: Commander Blake ]

hmm, you sure?...unless sc changed it, iirc, he was commander, exited in space, forgot to halt the cc and walked around on top while it hyperjumped...plus I did do the space marine IA and I couldn't stick to the station...

hrm...although not a clueless newbie, I'm clueless, as to how you would walk around on the outside of a ship or station, iirc, sc, you said you did that once, and like the CC hyperjumped with you still standing on it...well, everytime I decend onto it, it bounces me way back up above where I tried to "land" still, thanks for the game sc

geforce 2 card, so, no its not a voodoo, and it's some generic mouse I picked up for a buck, with intellemouse drivers...I'm not sure what drivers for the card though, I"m sure they could be updated, I"m still using the ones that came with it, I might go d/l the latest drivers now... oh, sorry, no, it doesn't do the same thing in a window, thanks SC...heh [ 11-20-2001: Message edited by: Commander Blake ]

I have too, had this problem, I have read the faq, and tried restoring it to defaults, I've even tried reinstalling my mouse drivers,(whatever good that will do), and it's still the same... this is still a great game SC, just this one little bug is getting to me, it's really inconvienient in tacops...

I had one that did break by fall...ripped the cord out of the socket...although with a screwdriver and a little tape it was fixed(almost) good as new, just cant pull to hard on the cord...but not bad...I did break another one another way, by drinking overit...spilled soda everywhere down into it and everything...ruined it...but not really the stick's fault...either...

I always thought Newbies=newb=nOOb=OOh, look at the poor newbie who didnt read the rules, thats gonna leave a stain.

heh, x-com alliance has been canned...it's been canned for a while...its not going to be released...and those are OLD shots, so please, dont get anyones hopes up...there might be a new xcom game coming out soon though...there are rumors of infogames making xcom 7/10(if you count all the canned ones)...oh well...heh

heh...yea I live NEAR p'cola...University takes quite a while for me to get to...so i dont go ther much...but anyway..I've seen stores advertise products that are only sold on their website(dont ask me why)...but thanks eclipse...and dont go buyin up all them copies before I get there...heh..sorry for the kinda stupid question..I've not been in E/B for a while...didnt even know they had the box up there...well..thanks again..and thanks to SC for making this great(great being the greatest word I can come up with since I'm on summer break and my brain's not functioning all the way) game...

sorry if this has been asked before..I searched..and it hasnt..but, will BCM actually be shipped to stores?..or will it just be mailed out over the net by orders on the page?...I'm hoping stores. because the mail service around here usually ads a few days onto the delivery of a package...and that would be really bad(no tv and BCM make Blake something something)...and if I can get it from the stores it would really be good...again sorry if this has been asked before...or inside a thread...and no prob if it cant be shipped to stores..I"ll just wait like a good little gamer...thanx SC CB!

dont you know?...the 60th axis will change the speed of your toaster...although with todays high tech nutri-paks I dont think you need a toaster...

ACK!!!! terrible movie... I would have fallen asleep except for all the explosions. VERY unrealistic. The helicopter staying so close to the side moving around like that. the Nitro getting bumped around and everything like that and not exploding. That old guys wife just happened to show up when that explosion went off... that one hook the lady was holding that what just stuck it looked like a couple of inches into the snow holding 2 people. as with any government why would they send so much extra nitro?? many other examples I just cant think of them right now... because I saw that movie liek 2 weeks ago... I am sorry I didint mention this but I tried the memory suggestions in the faq...although I think it might help if I run it in pure dos mode windows me has no way of getting into pure dos mode that I have found yet...nothing in the shutdown menu and even in startup the hit f8 thing doesnt seem to work...oh...also just last night for no apparent reason the normal(non-3dfx) version crashed on me...I was in tacops...iirc(if i remember correctly)when it crashed...never happened to me before on the normal version(note:I do realize you said win me is unsupported... oh well oh and sorry about not listing my system specs I thought that because I had no prob with it before win me It wouldn't matter except for the voodoo 3 part thanks for everything and SC goodluck with that guy at apu's hardware...forgot his name...and I am planning on signing up for the beta...just one thing do you think it would run on a 350 pentium II 96 megs ram and a voodoo 3 card( of corse) ------------------ My crew says "Our Commander is like a mule with a spinning wheel no one knows how he got it and danged if he knows how to use it....."

I ran the sound setup yes and its 2.09 and I have no idea about mouse and sound drivers... teh ones straight from the company wont work with mine sense mine is a gateway and the drivers gateway supplys has 404 links so you cant get anyof them so as far as I can get them these are the latest drivers I can get...I have run it before although it kept crashing on me in the middle of the game in 3dfx mode(that was before the upgrade to win me. oh and also my mem is set on auto and I will try it with higher mem. does that answer your questions????? please I am not some computernewbie who thinks their cdrom drive is a automatic cupholder(that has happened before, although not to me) I code a mud(multi user dungon) online. so I know a thing or two about computers...I was raised on dos and then later hyperdos. so you can dispense with many of the newbie questions on me oh and also my config sys is vital...I dont know why but I had a problem and tried to not use the config sys and it totally crapped up my system... ------------------ My crew says "Our Commander is like a mule with a spinning wheel no one knows how he got it and danged if he knows how to use it....."
