Guest SubZero Posted January 28, 2000 Report Posted January 28, 2000 Hi!I just bought BC3KAD, and I just discovered it's version 1.01. ****. (I can't return it...)I searched for updates on your page, and found, that the V1.x to v2.x-update costs 15$. For what reason, if I may ask?I already paid for the game, and it is usual that the games one buys WORK, which BC 1.01 certainly DOES NOT. Don't you think it's about time to give people free access to the 1.x => 2.x update? (Especially because the V 1.x to v2.x update is already quite old!) GreetingsSub Zero------------------
Thomas Siemens Posted January 28, 2000 Report Posted January 28, 2000 quote:I can't return it... This may sound somewhat harsh, but that is your problem. They sold you the old, not longer supported version, instead of the new v2.0x box. Return it (this should be your right) or buy the update!Thomas (a.k.a. Gudihl) Official Tester, Battlecruiser Series
Cruis. In Posted January 28, 2000 Report Posted January 28, 2000 The developer of this game, namely the SC. Does not get money or get paid for the sales of that version. Hence I quite agree with him and his not offering that patch free. Why should his work be free? Instead the v2.0 boxed is the proper one. Whoever is selling those old copies is scamming people, Take 2 or gametek, gametek was taken over, so it must be take2, and of course there's no law barring them from re mastering copies of an old game.
SpacePhish Posted January 28, 2000 Report Posted January 28, 2000 Bummer SUB. I did the same exact thing you did. I read on this fourm about version 2.0 before it came out, then blindly I went out and bought it, sadly it was version 1.0. Man was I pissed, but after getting to know this game and the people on this fourm I went and bought Version 2.0 (I had the drive to San Mateo on a empty tank with about $2 left for gas! For real I'm not kidding. Man was I broke then). Trust me it's worth it!P.S what do you say you and I go blow the **** out the store where you bought the game from! They should NOT rip people off like that!
Supreme Cmdr Posted January 28, 2000 Report Posted January 28, 2000 I don't think anyone is mastering old units. Its just that there may be some lying around from back in the days when you couldn't give them away even if you taped a $50 bill to the box. LOLSorry, Subzero, just return it.
Steve Schacher Posted January 29, 2000 Report Posted January 29, 2000 For future reference to others who surf here before buying the game (and please correct me if I am wrong), the first edition of this game was released in a silver box. The second edition was released in a color box with a black background. Don't buy the silver box version.
