Guest LordTeret Posted February 10, 2000 Report Posted February 10, 2000 Hi! I have been having trouble getting BC to work after the intro. I have searched the FAQ, and all the messages, and although I have seen quite a few posts close to my trouble, what they did to resolve the trouble has not worked for me. I have: AMD K6/2 333mhz Voodoo 3/2000 PCI 128 Meg ram I am using Windows 95, BC 3000 version 2.09, have the latest drivers for the Voodoo card, and direct-x 7. I have 619k free dos memory. This is what I get at the dos box after running the 3dfx version:DOS/4GW Professional error (2001): exception 0Dh (general protection fault) at 1 27:0000080F TSF32: prev_tsf32 6B18 SS 2EB DS 0 ES 0 FS 127 GS 0 EAX 85013CC4 EBX 217 ECX 0 EDX 84BA771E ESI 14F EDI 127 EBP 0 ESP F9C CS:IP 127:0000080F ID 0D COD 300 FLG 10006 CS= 127, USE16, byte granular, limit 5F8F, base 83C63C90, acc FB SS= 2EB, USE32, byte granular, limit FFF, base 83C63C90, acc 40F3 DS= 0, USE16, byte granular, limit 0, base 83C63C90, acc 0 ES= 0, USE16, byte granular, limit 0, base 83C63C90, acc 0 FS= 127, USE16, byte granular, limit 5F8F, base 83C63C90, acc FB GS= 0, USE16, byte granular, limit 0, base 83C63C90, acc 0 CR0: unavailable Crash address (unrelocated) = 5:0000080F Thanks for any help!Lord Teret
Thomas Siemens Posted February 10, 2000 Report Posted February 10, 2000 quote:the latest drivers for the Voodoo card Try those provided in the download section. Put the one for your card in the game directory.Btw., do you experience the same stability problems in Software Mode, too? Please check and report back.Note: as usual, if you changed memory settings or the like, be sure to delete the file setup.cfg, and start a completely new game.Regards.Thomas (a.k.a. Guest LordTeret Posted February 11, 2000 Report Posted February 11, 2000 I tried d/ling the V3 driver that's provided on the file section here, it does make it a bit further, now when I launch it kicks me out. As far as software mode, I get random crashes quite often, and I end up having to save about every 30 seconds. This is a great game though, so I wont give up! LT
Supreme Cmdr Posted February 11, 2000 Report Posted February 11, 2000 Install from scratch. Then use the V3 driver. Tweak your memory.
