Hello Airwolf419!

I also have a SoundBlaster Live! X-Gamer in my system. I have no problem at all with it while playing BattleCruiser. You might want to check out this link to Creative and grab the latest drivers which just came out a couple weeks ago. Also, on that same link there is a newsgroup that may also have some answers for you.

You should also check out the BattleCruiser 3000AD Troubleshooting FAQ under Sound Card Problems located here:

When your system boots up does it give you an error message on loading dos emulation?

Run setup from the dos prompt:

c:bc3000adsetup

One could let the setup prog autodetect digital and midi but I find this way to be error prone.

From the Menu "Select Digital" and "Select Midi"

Set both of these selections to SBPro of just plain old SB. It will work.

I also have a SB Live! and the SFx are pare-excellance, specially when set default SBLive! settings to various acoustics; Arena, Stadium, etc. BC rocked before but now it be rockin' more!

TTFN and hope this helped ye some smile.gif

My setting in the autoexec.bat is

A220 I7 D1 H5 P330 T6

I believe it will differ from computer to computer depending upon what IRQs you have open, etc at the time of installation. Ok, you said you have the newest drivers....did you read the Troubleshooting FAQ that I linked to above?

If anyone else has some ideas...feel free to jump in! smile.gif

Change ye DMA setting from D3 to D1. This can be done at using the BC3K sound setup program. After selecting digital make sure that ye test the configuration. If sound sounds choppy during setup test then it will laso sound choppy in the game. Experiment with diff SB settings (SB, SBPro, SB16, etc) until one no longer sounds choppy.

As to the effects, check ye SBLive! effects settings. What ever ye has selected there, Arena, underwater, cave, concert hall, etc. will carry over into BC3K gamesession. I discovered this by accident one day. Neat gizmo I think.

When ye loaded the SBLive! software was "SB Legacy support for Dos based programs" enabled?

If not then ye will have to enable it. Either through the SBLive! menu or remove and reinstall. Check SBLive! documentation for details.

I am running the SBLive! Platinum version with no problems what so ever. When I configured sound setup I selected SBPro from Digital and SB for Midi. Then disabled Midi at the BC3K Config window.

TTFN
