Eclipse Posted October 26, 2000 Report Posted October 26, 2000 This isn't a true tech support help request, more of a statement about what happened. I recently put in a Diamond Stealth S540. It's a Savage 4 card, and after a little fiddleing around got it running in BC3K. I also have a Voodoo 2 board for 3dfx stuff. Anyway, It seems that BC3K doesn't like the combo. I have to force it to use the 3dfx, and everything runs fine, cept when I exit the game or it crashes. When I try to restart it w/o restarting it goes outa sync and I get a black screen. I talked w Rattler about this a while ago, and only recently got around to trying to see if it still happened when I removed the Voodoo board.... problem stopped. However I think that restarting is worth the slightly extra time it takes to restart my comp in order to use 3dfx in BC3K. If you have any suggestions as to how to get em both working together I'll give em a shot. ------------------ Commodore Kyle Antilles ICV-Eclipse, Destiny Starstation (Nevuela) Commanding Officer, Destiny Spectre Fleet"You can only love or hate something you truly understand"
Papi Posted October 27, 2000 Report Posted October 27, 2000 I had the same problem with my voodoo 2, I remember that the issue was discussed some time ago. But I got solved only by going into 3dfx tools and looking at 3dfx memory which was, if I remember right 0mb! , but after that if you go back, somehow mysteriously it's 8mb's again. So that was the only solution I had except booting. I don't have that voodoo2 card anymore so this is just "as I remember" thing, hope it helps though.
Guest Posted November 1, 2000 Report Posted November 1, 2000 I have a Elsa Savage 4 card and a 12MB voodoo2, I found that the game ran better with the unsurported Win95 exe's than in DOS. The new version of BC will not support Voodoo1 or 2, so you will only need the Savage card. I find it works great for other games.
