I have a P3 750 with 256MB Ram a 64MBDDR Radeon, 20Gig HD and Win Me. The game freezes on the login screen every time when I select a slot to create my alter ego. However, I can play extreme carnage for a while but than that locks up as well. The max amt of memory I have available in DOS is 590K. I don't know how to get rid of whatever resident programs there are to free up more so I have over 600K. I'm not even sure that this would solve my problem. Someone please help me.

First, this game is officially unsupported. It's as-is. But for what it's worth, I'll try to help you out.

Second, to help solve you problem, have you investigated the FAQ for suggestions? Most problem can be helped by sniffing in there.

When asking for help it's usually important to tell what version have. v2.09 is the latest version of bc3k. Have you got a previous version, or the freeware one (v2.09) from a download site?

Make sure nothing went wrong during install. Sometimes a problem is due to a hickup of your system. Can you reproducew it with a second install?

I am running v2.09. I have the 2.0 CD and I patched up to 2.09. I checked the FAQ in the manual and it didn't help. I would appreciate anything you could do for me.

Thanks

Try uninstalling the game. Doing a fresh install and playing V2.0 and see if you still have the same problem. If yes then it's something in your computer that's causing the problem, if you can play just fine then upgrade to v2.09 but make sure that you do all the upgrades in order.

I have the exact same problem on my computer with BC3K.

It freezes up when I go to choose the name of my ship, and player. It has dones this countless times, and I have tried uninstalling, and other various things that the FAQ says. Unfortunatly to no avail. Not only the program freezes, but my whole computer, and i have to restart. I however can run Maximum Carnage for awhile, without it freezing.

I and running Version 2.09, and have all of the patches properly installed.

I have a Pentium III 966 mhtz, 256mb ram, 60 gigs, ATI Radion vid card, and Windows ME.

I figured that the problem prolly has something to do with WinME, but I don't know where to begin. Any suggestions would be very helpful.

I could theoreticlly start BC3K if I wanted to, but I'm not very motivated as my sound card isn't compatible with DOS. So I'll just be holding my breath for BCM, and (no offence) suggest you do the same.

Ehm, a thought just popped up in my head ... (to the elders/vets) Wasn't there an issue once about selecting a specific player slot, causing problems or something. Or was that just a 'wild goose'? I'm sorry, I can't remember anything else about it. Just a notion of it's existence. Can anybody remember?
