opt1k Posted October 23, 2001 Report Posted October 23, 2001 I have managed to get version 2.09 running under windows 2000 in dos mode with sound by using VDMSound for windows nt (ms-dos sound emulator) and starting with the following options: bc3000ad /n /d1 /v1. I am having but one problem that I was wondering if anyone can help me with, the mouse gets stuck up in the corner inside of certain area of the screen whenever i try to play the game, or any other dos game in windows 2000 utilizing vga (640*480??)+ and svga resolutions, is there any solutions anyone can come up with to correct this problem, i would really love to play this game on my system.
Eclipse Posted October 23, 2001 Report Posted October 23, 2001 I've had this same thing happening, haven't figgured out a solution.
Supreme Cmdr Posted October 24, 2001 Report Posted October 24, 2001 BC3K uses a DOS mouse driver e.g. mouse.come etc. If you can load a DOS mouse driver in the DOS console window before running the game, it should work.
opt1k Posted October 24, 2001 Author Report Posted October 24, 2001 thanks for your suggestions, ill try to play with a mouse driver for dos and ill post my results here on this thread, so anyone else who wants to try it has something to go on
Emmett.hendrick Posted October 24, 2001 Report Posted October 24, 2001 I got BC3K working in Win2k the other day with the BC3KWIN patch(I know its not supported but neither is BC3K officially anymore so I thought I'd give it a try) it works ok no music but thats ok and the menus are very slow but thats livable aswell on big problem is the logistics screen has no power option.Like I say I know the BC3Kwin is unsupported so this is not a cry for help just an information adendium which seemed realavant to this thread, as this way I have no mouse problems.Heading for nearest airlock just in case.
netshaman Posted October 26, 2001 Report Posted October 26, 2001 hi, where did you got this bc3kwin patch ? It' s not on the bc3000 web site. Cheers.
buckthesystem Posted October 26, 2001 Report Posted October 26, 2001 quote:hi, where did you got this bc3kwin patch ? It' s not on the bc3000 web site. Cheers. Firstly, I cannot even begin to describe how unsupported that patch is. So be careful about posting issues you may have with it.Secondly, You will find it in a zipped file called bc3kwin in your bc3000ad install folder. (assuming you are running the free downloadable v2.08 version)
Soback Posted October 26, 2001 Report Posted October 26, 2001 So, that patch is even more unsupported than BC3000AD itself?
Pedro Pablo Laracuente Posted October 27, 2001 Report Posted October 27, 2001 quote: (assuming you are running the free downloadable v2.08 version) Correction: it's version 2.09. Yeah the patch is very unsuported and i recommend waiting for BCM if you are planning on buying it. Laracuente out
buckthesystem Posted October 27, 2001 Report Posted October 27, 2001 hehe, yeah even more unsupported than bc3000ad in fact, windows xp gets more support here!

opt1k Posted November 8, 2001 Author Report Posted November 8, 2001 ive no luck getting the DoS version to work properly in win2k = atleast not until microsoft decides to fix the mouse bug in high resolution dos modes, it might work in xp who knows, but i will never use such trashill just have to play the unsupported windows version for now, not as good as the dos version but it works..... i might even play around with vmware and see if i can get it to run at playable speeds inside of that.this game is pretty fun, even tho i still havent figured all of the controls out HEH *reads manuals*
