Kevin Trotter Posted November 18, 2001 Report Posted November 18, 2001 I've just started playing in freeflight mode last week after devouring the manual and I constantly have intruders aboard who invariably steal shuttles. I've assigned marines to the shuttles and had them stolen with the marines aboard. I've tried traveling through hostile areas while cloaked but have to be careful not to deplete iridium. I'm open to any sugestions to increase marine unit response times or increase security lockout AI
Baloogan Posted November 18, 2001 Report Posted November 18, 2001 to stop for stealing shuttles deacivate launch control
Gallion Posted November 18, 2001 Report Posted November 18, 2001 Assign Marines to SEARCH duty. Dont wait for Resnig to do it TTFN[ 11-18-2001: Message edited by: Gallion ]
Guest Posted November 18, 2001 Report Posted November 18, 2001 Definitely, DO NOT WAIT for Resnig to do anything, better yet, put his butt in a shuttle and launch his butt into space!! Yes, turn off your Launch control, set half your marines to search duty, and cross your fingers that the intruders don't try to take off with your hyperdrive!! LOLAnd if you wound one, send a few marines to your medbay, if an intruder is a hurting unit and can't get off the ship, he will head there!!
Kevin Trotter Posted November 19, 2001 Author Report Posted November 19, 2001 I've been unable deactivate launch control from the tactical computer or from tacops. Any suggestions? Also is there any way to replace lost shuttles or ,egads! fighters? My mining ops have given me a cash surplus but as yet I've been unable to find replacements. Thanks in advance , Ive tried to post on other sites before and have been put off by smarmy remarks regarding my lack of computer savvy. I appreciate the feeling of camraderie and look forward to becoming more apart of Galcom and the BC community
Cmdr Nova Posted November 19, 2001 Report Posted November 19, 2001 Head to "Logistix", and go into the power menu. You can change power allocation (the left and right arrows by every item), and turn things off by turing the power all the way down (the left). Just don't go around turning off your life support...... (Once, I turned off life support, went into a shuttle and took off, letting my crew die nice and slow.....)About shuttles, you can replace one by buying a Shuttle under, I think, spare parts; the trouble is, is they're $1 million a piece. After you have bought one, you can replace a destroyed/stolen one by going into Logistix->Crafts->SH->SH n (where n is the shuttle number), and there should be something that you click that says "replace" or something of the like. I think that should clear it up.Finally, if you have time, read the manual for the game. There should be an icon in the start menu for it. It should help you in the long run. Also, if you're planning on getting BCM/BCO (yes, it's been renamed to BattleCruiser Online, see Dev Diary for more), and playing online, see my site, the Orion Fleet RP Source. The Newbie Info page is listed in the menu on the left, as is an RP Basics page.I'm Nova, the Newbie Welcome Wagon, and if you've got more questions on multiplayer, fleets, the game, or whatever, drop me a line ( [email protected] ).And while I'm on the subject of fleets and info, if you're getting into multiplayer, and want to join a fleet, you might want to consider the Orion Fleet. We're the Heavy Strike Fleet of GalCom, and we kick some serious Gammulan and bunny (nickname for the Insurgents) a$$.Considered by many to be the most elite fleet in the universe, Orion Fleet may be an interesting future for you--if you think you're one of the elite and you can handle the heat! We're also the most active Fleet, too! So if you're looking for comradery, then come over our way. Contact $iLk ( [email protected] ) if you're interested, because he's the Fleet Recruitment Officer. And remember, I'm here to help. No question is too small (at least no questions related about BC) to tackle. Alright? Then I'll probably be talking to a few of you new guys reading this, soon. Nova, over and out.
