Alas fellow travellers , I have an underpowered computer with the world infamous celeron processor. I am , it seems , relagated to patrol

the lonely world of BC legacy(unsupported and unloved)I read with baited breath the adventures of my brethren with 1.5 Ghz processors the wonderful world of BCM! only to sigh and say why not me? Well I know why not , given the choice of a new computer(this one is 8 months old) and a mortgage payment, I punked out and paid the house note. While I cut my teeth on 2.09 and quietly

grumble under my breath..( Who's Resnig my wife asked after a particularly tough bout of sleeptalking), the only ray of hope is the occassional nugget of wisdom from the brass. Yes

we newbies are dumb (why do they keep stealing my

shuttles) and clueless( I just bought BCM and whats the diff from BC2.09?) we are brave enough not to mask our massive ignorance! Just remember us toiling in obscurity and favor us from time to time and consider it charity.

ROFLMAO!!!

I feel for you, I really and truly do!!

My thoughts are with you my son!!! LOL

But the mortgage takes precidence.

And you may want to take a break from it as well, Dreaming about Resnig? perish the thought!! Ugh!! LOL

You almoust made me cry.

I really should be a better man and get my priorities straight (bills or games). And people say games aren't addictive.

There's one way to look at it though. When you get a better computer and can play BCM, you won't have any problems because all will be found and fixed and there will be a lot of new features to spice up the game.

Simple the enemys love shuttles shut down your luachers when your not using them. Hit P to look for your enemy. As fot your computer if just 8 months old you should be able to play the game. I run a 800 athon. 2 years and running good

Now where did I put my copy of BCM?

That's alt + L for Logistix then Power then Launch Control then turn it off. And P turns on the PTA in both versions.

Bannon, you been around a bit so you should know by now but for others...

BC3k: Fly one capital ship, be any character

BCM: Fly any capital ship, can only be one character.

Heh, if you have to buy BCM and register to get to the board this thread is almost useless. But someone may try the old thing.

Don't feel bad Bannon. I tested BCM with a 500 Celeron and a voodoo 3 and am still using it.

Charles! What do you mean by "be any character"? the different carreers? CMDR/EFP/PSP/marine_versions_of_it ... Or the castes? Whatever it means, I think you have them swapped around.

Melcar has it. With the ability to switch to the different support vehicles in BC3K you were basically becoming that character while in BCM your AE (alter ego) must walk to the craft himself before you can operate it.

Ya'll may call me daft, but I prefer BC3K to BCM so far.

BCM has been WAAAAAY to unstable on my system to make it worth my time. Yeah I know, I've read it all and heard it all, but the fact remains that the game crashes on my kit, so I'll stick to BC3K if ya'll don't mind. (BC3K still ain't all that stable as it is...)

Maybe when MP comes around, BCM will be more stable and I can get into it.

Heya, Shingen!!!! that's my sig phrase!

Maybe BCM is unstable in your system because too old or it barely meets the minimun system requirements or something else...

Welcome to the new year people, it's 2002 now. Congratulations!

Yeah. Let's make this a good one. Before we know it, we'll have multiplayer..... Just thinking about it puts me at the edge of my seat... Happy New Year.

Nova, over and out.

Long live BC! (And the SC. )

(The 1000 post count-down so becomes 1.)

I hope everyone noticed my tongue firmly planted in cheek in my newbie blues. The questions were questions I,ve seen asked and asked myself when I first started playing. I was simply trying to portray the feeling of standing outside the toy store window with no loot to buy the shiny new baubles. I've since been cursed with a ship and

support craft that get stuck and will not maneuver. After about an hour playing time I'm unable to jump or use thrusters to move.I've also

had shuttles indicate that plantefall has been reached but appear to still be in orbit. All this without any damage to my systems...any help out there?

nope, it ain't my system, I got more then enough juice to run the game, it just keeps crashing back to windows all the time... it reminds me of what FFE and Daggerfall used to do... (before they were patched to run half-assed)

BCM will run on my kit, it just ain't as stable as BC3K for some reason... don't ask me why...

I took the phrase from Dune and from the Westwood title Emperor Battle For Dune, ya know i WAS a great Dune fan.

Final Fantasy took dune's place sometime ago in my "best of the best". The movie and now FFX (Final Fantasy X). They're just awesome.

I know i'm getting off topic but i had that comment.

ANd About BC3K. It is old and abandoned but still a great game. It has the deep of a good game and is awesome, outdated but incredible a good game, when the SC released it for free i got it and played it everyday until some other games took my attention. Damn good game... bur when you have one better than it, then... BCM is better in all aspects of the game and for me it's still not fully enjoyable in this damn computer (sis-630 graphics card, he... if you know what i am talking about then you know what i mean) but i've already ordered my new alienware Area 51 computer.

Over And Out.
