Well I'm back and this is very interesting to say the least!

This comes as a surprise an shock. Your the last person I would expect to have bailed on Prime. Oh well its all about fun.

I still see a major conflict of interest though by remaining in Delta in any position. What would you do when Delta wing attacks lets say the Gam home world. Fight full heartedly for Prime or the Gammulans? I don't see how you'd pull off fighting yourself. It wouldn't be fair to Prime or the Gammulan fleet IMO.

I'll announce shortly my candidate for Delta Wing leader. I would like to see a BC vet fill the position. If you would like to be considered for the position post it here.

I seriously doubt that Delta Wing will be involved in any attack on Gammula, and if so then I will make my AE in Delta Wing cease to exist.

Pretty simple actually, but again, I doubt Delta would have anything to do with an attack on Gammula. So I would like to stay as a wingmember, I put a bit of work into this wing, as you can well imagine. So I would like to stay, but if the wing is uncomfortable, or prime fleet decides that it is indeed a conflict IE: the SC, then I will resign totally.

Theres no doubt in my mind that Delta will face off against the Gammulans someday. Prime fleet is uncomfortable with it at least the members I've spoken with, but we will tolerate it. As you said its the SC decision not ours.

Cmdr Rico Jansen reporting in as Cmdr Jaguar's replacement.

Cmdr Jaguar has left his command position on personal motives. He will remain a member of Delta wing, but will not have command aspirations anymore. I look forward to work together with Delta Wing Staff, and hope to get to know all of Delta's members in the not so distant future.

p.s. Can anybody explain what that wing motto is all about? "mars gravidus" ... "Mars attracts us"???

Rico,

please use

S46 Wing Leader - Prime Fleet, Delta Wing

as your assignment line. 46 (without the S) would be Squadron Leader, 4th squadron of Delta.

Best regards.

I means "Mars, Lead us to Victory" in Latin!!

You know, Mars, the god of war?

Comprendo, though I couldn't even guess to the link of 'lead to victory' and 'gravitus'. You know, thinking in terms of gravity and that.

Wow, what a revolution in the high ranks of the Delta Wing!!

Cmdr Jaguar, I want to say it was an honor, and a pleasure, to serve Galcom and the Prime Fleet under your command.

Cmdr Rico Jansen, it will be a privilege to work under your command.

Hope to see both of you in space soon!

One thing Jaguar: the word "gravidus" in latin means "filled; pregnant; ladened, weighted down with"

On the other hand the word "Gradivus" was a surname of Mars (god of agriculture and of war).

So probably Delta Wing motto should be Mars Gradivus (which would mean "he who precedes the army in battle") who is also the greek god of war Ares.

Let me know what you think.

To confirm my theory I list some website I found on this subject:

http://149.144.201.234/~myths/roman.html#Mars

http://www.nd.edu/~archives/latgramm.htm

http://home.swipnet.se/~w-48250/mythology/m/mars.html

And one more thing, wouldn't it be better to have the Delta letter in ancient greek and not in modern alphabet? It would look like a triangle.

Waiting for your feedback commanders.

See you in space!

I was wandering around the Forum, and the various web sites dedicated to Battlecruiser series. I think that now that BCM is out, more and more player will join the forum and will probably decide to join some fleet. The most important factor, IMHO, that could bring newbies to Prime Fleet (and even better to Delta Wing) is a good Prime Fleet website, and some commanders' website to add some background. Now I am going to update my website (I will re-write it all in Flash and add some background info and new pics from the BCM screenshot) but...

what about the Primefleet.com website?? Who is the webmaster, who is managing it and keeping it updated? Could I help somehow?

Please let me know.

First off commander since Rico likes your revised logo you now need to submit it to [email protected] for approval by Derek before you use it.

Primefleet.com webmaster would be me I suppose since I own the site. Cmdr. Badgerius is Primes flash man. He and myself have done most of the work and updates to the site along with a few others.

We are gearing up at the moment to give the site a major overhaul. If you would like to contribute to the site you can help construct Delta Wings section. Before you change the theme though that Badgerius cooked up for us. You need to submit a sample of what you would like to do to [email protected]

If you would like more info about how to get started, and what were doing with Primes website. Check the Website discussion thread over at the Prime fleet board.

See you there.

I think that Cmdr Rico, as Wing Leader, should decide if the new proposed logo has to be submitted for approval by SC. I will be waiting his decision.

Cmdr Williams, I am very sorry if I offended you, I did not mean to. You and Cmdr Badgerius are doing a great job, the web site is beautiful, but also huge, and I was just offering some help.

Unfortunately for me it is very difficult to access the Forum on Primefleet.com since for some strange reasons my office firewall banned that forum as a chat line (not permitting us to post anything) while on this forum is permitted to do everything! (I will try to connect to Primefleet forum from home, even if I have a very slow connection).

I think that I will concentrate on rebuilding my GCV-Artemis website first (which is quite small) and as soon as I finish there I will be ready to give you all the help you could need (I quite good at Flash - ask Cmdr Tac- and HTML).

Hope my previous post did not upset you, really, it was not my intention to offend you in any way.

See you in space.

No offence taken here. I look forward to your help in the future.

Well, ANY logo needs to be submited for approval. I am not nor ever will be an exception to that rule. But I like it enough to do so, if that's what you were waiting for. Sure go ahead. (I'd think it would shorten the communication lines and prevent confusion if I'm not the mediator inbetween) You have my approval to get THE approval. Just point the approving party to this post incase they ask about it.

Oh wait, hold on. You have the motto in it too. Nothing wrong with that perse. Just that "Mars Gradivus" is really a name, not really a credo or expresion of approach to life. But maybe I am wrong. Am not so into motto's. And haven't got a clue about greek or latin language. I just don't want to get into strange embarrasing sittuations of our motto not making sense. Let's get this straight first. If there is anything to set.

Ok gentlemen,

I just submitted the new logo.

Now let's wait for the approval.

I will keep you updated.

See you in space.

---------------------------------

Wow this is funny, we posted in the same moment Cmdr Jansen.

Btw, Mars Gradivus was one of the Mars (roman god) that the ancient roman worshipped. He was the one the roman armies praied before going to battle, as he (Mars Gradivus) was the god who lead to victory from the beginning of the war, while another Mars (the Quirinus one) was presiding over the end of the war. If compared to the ancient greek mythology, Ares (god of war) can be linked to Mars Gradivus.

Now, the phrase "Mars Gradivus" is NOT (this is true) a motto, but some kind of calling (way to invoke or appeal to) for his protection.

I think it could work, but if you think it's better to use a real motto in latin I can work on it (I studied latin years ago, not sure I remember everything, but I can try....)

Let me know!!!

Meanwhile the approval process can go on, and if we want a different motto I will work on one that has Mars Gradivus in it so we do not have to change the logo.

Yeah, I was editing and adding that last paragraph.

But nevermind. The motto seems ok. And I don't like the idea of nagging to the SC about another logo change or whatever. I'll live with it.

Yes, I don't think either that bothering the SC with too many changes' approvals, in this period of time, would be a good idea.

Also, inserting the motto "Mars Gradivus" means that we do not need it any more in the signature, below the logo (as it is so far).
