I want to create an area for CIOPS issues that are separate from ISS issues since CIOPS wing will operate independently from ISS most of the time.

Cmdr. Cody Bader is the Director of CIOPS. I believe that a logo has been created for CIOPS, I am going to try and put the logos up on the fleet database if it will let me, since I've had some problems witht the computer.

Cmdr Bader, I'll give you this space to lay out your ideas for the Wing.

Good day all,

I'd like to take the opportunity to say hello to the ISS group again, it's been awhile. I do check the forum on a fairly regular basis, though recently I've kept my forum readings confined to the 'key' forums for me (General Discussion, Development News, ISS Fleet Forum, and occasionally Fleet Discussion). However, I do check my e-mail everyday, and unless I am tired or need some time to think about a response, I reply as soon as I can, often the same day. I'm going to try to defeat my old trend of only replying until absolutely necessary. I do read all ISS material that comes my way, but unless I was explicitly requested, I often kept rather mute.

Anyhow, should BCM be released right before the end of the year, I will definitely be around at that time, and hopefully my interest in BC will be rejuvenated, and I'll be spending most of my spare time 'retraining'. It should be quite interesting.

I do think that this thread will be a great place to discuss how CIOPS will function. To be honest, I seem to know a bit more of KGB structure than that of the CIA, and since Richard said the CIA structure is the way to go, I'm a bit confused, as I have never ran across a rough outline of CIA organization, like internal branches. So, I can't say for sure that this intelligence structure has things like actual covert assets under it's command like ships and such.

While I'm fairly certain that at some point a few months ago during fleet reorganization the ISS CIOPS role was strictly spelled out, I'll have to search for that statement, and I'll see exactly what the role encompasses. (Things like: intelligence on other fleets and their members, movements in the Terran systems, operatives in foreign governments and services, etc. All of these are quite possible, and I am looking for that 'mission statement' that sums up what CIOPS is capable of doing, it's objectives and priorities.)

So, if anyone would care to enlighten me and toss suggestions and ideas around this thread, please do so. I'll certainly be around more often now.

Cmdr. Bader,

Here is a rough idea of what CIOPS is all about:

The ISS has a counter-intelligence, counter-insurgency, and interrogation wing known as CIOPS(pronounced psyops) which is an acronym for Central Intelligence OperationS. CIOPS main responsibility is to infiltrate all enemies of GALCOM through counter-intelligence/counter-insurgency means. It has jurisdiction of all systems outside of Earth space, which is left to EarthCOM and SCID(CIOPS' EarthCOM equivalent).

This is just a restatement of what I have on the "ISS Fleet" topic. CIOPS is esentially the same organization as the CIA is now. It gathers all intelligence, conducts all counter-intelligence, counter-insurgency, covert operatons, clandestine operations, and target elimination missions. CIOPS will work closely with the Intel & Espionage Wing. Some missions may include a combination of both wings forces or missions may have 2 parts, one wing may need to complete their part of the mission as the other part is being handled by another wing. CIOPS has no jurisdiction in Earth space as that is left to EarthCOM's SCID.

If you have any other questions let me know.

Cody,

You will have under your command an elite Marine unit known as SURGE. They will be assigned to CIOPS Wing, and will handle the Guerilla warfare side of CIOPS. I can't say too much more about it on the forum. Email me with any questions you may have.

Good day,

Thanks for your support, Cmdr Jamont! I'll be keeping in touch with you, either via e-mail or the ISS mailing list. Also, some subjects above are better discussed using personal correspondence instead of here. So, I'll leave the more focussed discussion to that.

Thank you Cmdr. And I see you are close to my home away from home MO. I am from Springfield, MO. We seem to have more in common all the time.

Anyway, I was donig some reading and thought about working on building a website for the operations arm of CIOPS. Yet, I am a little uncertain of what I am responsible for and how you may want this arm to function. So, could you or Cmdr. Bader give me some of the ideas on how, and what the Operations arm is going to be doing. I can go from there. I check my email daily more than once so either here or you can email it to me.

Thank you

The Operations arm is responsible for carrying out all missions that have been planned. They are the field operatives that go undercover or infiltrate areas and actually conduct the missions. The area of jurisdiction is everywhere outside of Earth space. The ISS/CIOPS has no jurisdiction inside Earth space. That is left to EarthCOM/SCID. If you have any further questions let us know.
