This is a good point. The purpose of Intercorp is NOT to form a fleet, but to provide a support facility for Indies wrt to access for pooled resources, contacts, work opportunities etc.

Don't be put off thinking this is some form of conformity organization and you can't swan around doing your own thing, 'cos that's bollocks! The whole concept behind Intercorp is to allow Indies to remain as Indies.

It's gonna be a big bad galaxy out there, go it alone by all means. But if you need some help to make a go of it we're more than happy to see what we can do. Provided, of course, any activities remain within bounds as laid out in Intercorps charter. (As an independent/impartial organization we need these rules as we don't want to get blown away by an irate fleet!) If your activities fall out of these bounds, well you'll be doing exactly what you want to do then won't you?.... being independent.

Unfortunately for me since I'm a Gammulan it makes no sense being a member of Intercorp since I will obviously show up red on your radar. Heh, that's all right because I will be hired by other Gammulans and the Valkyries plus I got stormcarrier backup.

True. Being a Gammulan does automatically put you on a lot of fleet blacklists. An issue I'm sure we'll need to look at in more detail in the future, as a number of those fleets have already made their (possibly misinformed) intentions known as to the form their relationship will be with Intercorp if Gammulans are members.

Ill take being a Indie anyday (Glad I am), i dont have to worry about sticky rules I rather not follow. More freedom! F R E E D O M Something ill have, and you wont! Fleets are for wussys anyway. LOL!

Besides that, you cant organize the way we are if you are in a fleet because of the Fleets rules and regs anyway.

Will see if you feel that way when a group of raiders are about to put some IOD fire up the tail pipe of your unarmed transport and you spot a GALCOM patrol near by.

Ahem, that's why there are mercs for hire right? Anyway having a military is really good, as we get free protection within the respective fleet's jurisdictions and also unlimited firepower and reinforcements

Who said that? If Jeffery and his merc gang are going to stick their hands into a beehive, guess who's comming to the rescue. Not us! You want trouble, you lick your wounds yourself. Tip: You're missing a paramedic division.

If Rattler and his gang, or some raider bunch decides to pay our territory a visit, they'll know we will be there. But nobody ever said Guns For Hire Inc. is pulling a contract out of that (magician hat ).

Nope, we're not missing a paramedics division, is just that there's no one to head it at the moment. If you're talking about the organisational chart at our web site, yeah, Riga missed out a few divisions.

Fair enough, on a general basis, mercs will not stick their hands into the proverbial beehive for fun, as there no money to it, but I'm sure you'll agree that we're attacked while on an trader escort mission, you will respond to our SOS, right?

I never said that it would be easy, but then you never know when we're needed right? Someday you might end up somewhere without backup, that's when we're there to offer our services.

What do you have in mind? You get paid for safe passage of the trader, and we do the messy work? Think again, Mister. Not that.

We have no interrest in coming with an all-out assault on the attacker and relieve you of your duty. We will atleast respond with the question if you can hang it out or not. If the escorts are on the loosing side then we will make sure the attackers won't have the upper hand no more. Sure we will keep an eye on you. But the escorts are the first line of defense.

Anyone who escorts traders should remember how GalCom would react -- and the best way to see this is by playing in Campaign mode. You hop into a system, some baddies are spawned, and you go about your business as fast as possible. If baddies start targetting you, or you're in a patrol zone, or you've got lots of time, you chase them and blow them apart. Otherwise, you just sit non-chalantly as they tear apart other people while you lick your wounds from the battle or try to get to your destination quickly.

Believe me, considering the fleets will be constantly negotiating various combats, they'll have little time to bail out shipments of goods.

(Unless, of course, you offer a hefty bribe. )

That's what us Police are for -- we get paid by the government to clean out Raiders and Criminals, and at our discretion we can always help people out.
