Question about Mining Drones

Is it possible to get shuttles to deploy mining drones without switching to them and doing it manually?

When I give the order to deploy drones from the bridgeviewer, they don't deploy them.

Am I not waiting long enough after they are reported to be at the planet? I can deploy them from 1000 or so meters up when I switch to direct control.

I use Tacops and set waypoints. Works like a charm. I like to bring the BC close to the planet. Observe the planet, choose the ship, choose the instruction, place the waypoint, click launch.

The reason I like to bring the BC close to the planet is so that the shuttles will not have very far to fly and by the time I am giving instructions to the third shuttle the fist one has already made planetfall and you can see it drop its drone.

Just a little tip, make sure your waypoints for the shuttles to drop the drones are not too close together, and also, drop them in friendly territory, then they dont get wasted
