Blowed up Star Station question

What do you get by successfully defeating a star station? Can you take it over and use it for the forces of good, or do you just get pods and stuff???

If you destroy a starstation, then that's pretty much it. You get some experience, maybe the occasional pod (correct me if I'm wrong here) and that's about it. If you attempt to dock with it when it goes into SOS mode, however, you will capture the station and turn it over to your side, which can be rather handy as you no doubt figured out smile.gif You need to do this when it's in SOS mode though, meaning right before it's destroyed.. tricky, but very possible!

Hi Dick Trickle.

Not only do you get experience points for detroying a space station but like with any ship you also get credits for the destruction of a space station but as Parias as already stated it is far better if you can capture the station then the stations resources are avilable to yourself which comes in handy if the nearest friendly station is quite a few jumps away.

Capturing the station isn't too difficult. Keeping it is the challenge! smile.gif

They are extremely touchy when they are that weak. PTA off and IOD down to 10%, kiss it to death as someone posted a while back. Expand Tips and Tricks to a year and take a look at those thread.

What craft were you using to try to cap it? I don't think any support craft can be used, you have to use the BC

Man... J, you got ****ed up.

So is it best to keep making sneak attacks, or is it best to just go for the jugular???

Look in the tips section for great advice on attacking stations, Dick. A sneaky method with remarkably crafted PTA fire is my method.

Ok, lemme play dumb and tell u how it's done.

1. make sure some opposition is dead, and the others are crawling to base /u should see those poor fellas close to the station, flying at a walking pace towards it.

2. fly to the station, and, dodging/surviving it's missiles, take down its shield, and most of the hull.

3. when the hull is under 2000, turn off PTA, move the IOD to 10%, and carefully reduce INTEGRITY to some 20-30....

4. if it doesnt emit SOS by then, give it a couple more hits.

5. when SOS is being emitted, get within 20 clicks, make sure it's selected as your radar target, and hit alt-d.

6. it should ask u if u want to dock /or capture? dont remember./

7. hit y /for Yes/, and you should be docked there. after u launch, it will still be nearly dead, but green, and recovering.

8. that's it. if the thing doesnt work, post the message, pointing out the step in which u failed.

Hope this helps :-)
