I can successfully transpor a team to the surface but im having difficulty retrieving them, can anyone tell me how to do it?!? I think I've left about 27 marines on Mars, poor souls.

I don't know all the reasons for a failed recovery, but I have had this happen in the past. I think I ended up using a shuttle to try to retrieve them.

You need to make sure you flag them for recovery. To do this you have to select them, then press the transporter button. If the system has power and is functional, they will be beamed aboard. Check the tacops section of the manual for exact procedures.

Tip: From the tacops command palette, freeze the AI processing and they will stop moving, allow you to select them. Once you've selected them, you can restore the update and then fire up the transporter.

To add a bit of detail to the SC's directions:

From TACOPS, first zoom into the surface of the planet in question and then bring up the control palette and click the "Hold" button. That will freeze the motion on the screen otherwise you'll be chasing those annoying little people around all day smile.gif.

To flag units for retrieval, click on them and select the RTB order. When you've flagged all you want to retrieve, click "Update" on the control palette and then click the "EVAC" button (should be yellow).

NOTE: If you pull up the control palette and the "EVAC" button is already lit, start punching it. Someone has flagged themself for immediate transport off the surface and usually means that they will die soon if they don't get back to the ship and receive some medical attention.

Now it works! Thanks a lot, it was getting kind of difficult to retrieve them, especially after most of my shuttles were either stolen or busy elsewhere.

You're more than welcome. Good to see new commanders in training around here.

Commander, get your tail back to training! wink.gif

ALWAYS cut power to launch control when you have intruders!
