hello.

i had played 1.* [the free version] for a couple weeks and then i got 2.9. i have played it quite a bit and i ov course love it. i play a little differently than most: allow me to explain. if my character dies, i immediately delete my save games and start a new character. this way, i don't try ridiculous things and fleeing from a battle is always an option. taking my first star station was therefore quite the experience. i would be interested to hear if others play in this manner. Battle Cruiser is like an excellent book: you have to take the time to savour and enjoy all the little details. i have never played on the side ov Galcom since i got 2.9, always a Raider which is a realy good learning experience. so i was thinking ov trying it out by way ov ACM.

i have just completed reading all newbie posts available to me and will be starting on the other boards tonite. if other newbies did this it probably wouldn't have taken me so long to swamp through the archives. so if i ask a ridiculous question, don't kick my arse... dirrect me to the manual/version control/message archive and ill kick my own arse. being my in-game profession is what it is, i eagerly look forward to BCM, where i can do even more than i can now in 'my other life.' hope that doesn't sound too hardcore...

as a side note, i was wondering if anyone has the following files kicking around. i see them mentioned from time to time in various archives, but the files are understandably expired and removed from the server:

The Windows Patch - interested to see if this works better on my system.

i have looked on the download section, and, well, everywhere else on the site and internet. if i am missing something, give me a clue and i will happily admit my mistake.

Hello, -+=jaP+=-. Welcome to the raider world. I like this mode to, it gives me always something to worry about. If you want to talk about starstations, I'lll let you know that I took over (captured) ISS and GHQ, and now proceeding to OrionHQ. I don't like to destroy them, cause allies (yes, allies for a raider) are always useful, but boy that I reloaded when I tried to capture GHQ!

Since in the raider mode you have by default fleet C&C, I have fun to fight being escorted by 4 BC's and some cruisers. It makes a Hell of a battle in Jupiter! Just if I could a better computer...
