Guest hello Posted December 28, 2000 Report Posted December 28, 2000 whenever i deploy a drone to earth and decide to extract it i send a shuttle but i have to fly it manually it wont just follow orders. also how do you make time jump forward. its hapened to me a few times and i dont know whats causing it. in the manual it talks about time compression but that doesnt seem to work.
Wold Posted December 28, 2000 Report Posted December 28, 2000 Registered Dec, of this year....Welcome aboard. How long have you been playing BC3K and what version are you running? To do a drone recovery I set up a waypoint in Tacops for the shuttle that I want to recover the drone. Before you set the waypoint you have to set Tacops view to the planet. Left click on planet, left-click on observe. Open up the Command Pallete, select a shuttle (SC#), click on ADD, then set the action to recover drone # (better get the correct # too)then click on place and put the marker on top of the drone. Launch shuttle. Suggestion (hope you're running ver. 2.09) read the Docs that came with it. Your questions above and the other about Artifacts are answered in the docs. You will see lots of docs. Read 'em, ALL of them! If you can't find the answers there then search the forum, all dates and you'll be amazed at what comes up.Happy hunting! ------------------ Commodore Wold ICV-Drakr, Spectre HQ (Antis) Commanding Officer, Spectre HQ Spectre FleetICQ 4669033 "You can only love or hate something you truly understand"[This message has been edited by Wold (edited 12-28-2000).]
aramike Posted December 28, 2000 Report Posted December 28, 2000 Hello, hello. Just as Wold said, make sure you're running the lastest version of the game. And read the docs, as they contain many important notes. Also, sometime a shuttle can not reach a drone due to the planet's cartography. In other words, you may inadvertantly be setting the way points too high. There is no real cure for this, so there may be times in which you'll have to proceed manually.
Guest hello Posted December 29, 2000 Report Posted December 29, 2000 thanks for te help i wasnt placing the waypoint before. im running ver. 2.09 and just got the game on christmas. also ive looked at all the messages and they have answered most of my wuestions except this one. i bought a nuke just for the fun of nukin something and cant figure out how to launch the dumb thing. ive read every thing about weapons and systems in the manual but all it does is talk about guidance and junk like that.
Guest Mikel Posted December 29, 2000 Report Posted December 29, 2000 If you take a look on the command palate (sp?) on the Tac-Ops screen you'll see "ODS" under one of the things you can put waypoints for...
Guest hello Posted December 29, 2000 Report Posted December 29, 2000 what about time compression. in the manual it say ctrl a and ctrl shift a but it doesnt work. that little indicator on the hud stays the same and time flows normally. also i launched a nuke at an insurgent base but it did nothing.
Steve Schacher Posted December 29, 2000 Report Posted December 29, 2000 Time compression was removed long ago.Use the command pallete to target your nuke. Select ODS to choose your weapon. Select target to click on your target. Wait until it says target acquired or something like that. Then click on launch. It will take a short while until the nuke travels to the target, but then you should hear some birds chirping...
Ben Zwycky Posted December 29, 2000 Report Posted December 29, 2000 ...and make sure you have your speaker volume and bass turned right up
aramike Posted December 29, 2000 Report Posted December 29, 2000 hello, you are REALLY going to have to read the manual and the docs, including the FAQ. IIRC, "Retrieve Drone" is a TACOPS command that has to be used in tandem with waypoints. And, as others have stated, time compression was removed early on.
