Waypoint placement

Hello,

I own the last version of the game. I had some problem with ATVs and guys launch, and searching around the forums, I saw that a good placement of the waypoint for the shuttle to reach it and so to fire the instruction of deploy is the critical point. I understand the idea but my question is : How to "carefully set the position" ? What about the vertical position of the waypoint to match the ground, not above, not under ?

Thanks in advance for any help

P.S : Thanks you Derek for that gem. I bought the v1.0 at CHIPS&BITS just to see how it was released by TEK2, with their engine. It's really a shame. But through those difficult years you finally succeded. Your game is the best. I will play it for many years because of its possibilities.

BRAVO !!!

Yes, Wold

It's very pleasant to see he is here around, reading what we say and posting some words if needed.

I saw some words about beta testing BCMillenium. what's the profile ?

Now concerning my question about waypoint : If, as I discovered and you confirmed, I can't act on waypoint altitude and so have no way of assure that the position is "just right above the ground", can I say that the automatic launch (or not) of ATVs (triggered only when the shuttle can reach the waypoint) is a random lucky event ?

My next question is : When I launch a shuttle, IC, or ATV for the first time, what is it's autopilot mode ? Because if I jump in the cockpit, I find it "no A/P, DIRECT". If I then switch it to "A/P, AI", the next time I jump in it it still is in "A/P, AI" mode. Even if I dock it and launch it again !

My last question is : What's the DIRECT mode vs AI mode ? I don't found any explanation of that in any doc, in any topic ?

Thanks in advance for any answer to my newbie questions.

Have a good day

The craft knows the waypoint is under the ground and will compensate.

Read the manual.

Read the version control file or the readme.txt file for v2.09

Altitude? That's a good idea.

I think so too. I also seem to have trouble setting "altitude" (depth above/below planar grid) in space view in TACOPS. Kind of makes it hard to fly a shuttle to a debris field for cargosweeping when it arrives at the right XY coords and the field is still 1000 km(?) away.

Or is that in the manual too? cwm3.gif

Hi Joel, you can cargo sweep in debris field by flying your BC to the field and then cargo pods are generated. Then you can order your shuttles to sweep. Read more about this by searching the forum, there's a lot stuff about this.

Thanks Papi, but I knew that smile.gif I've gotten stuff like free armor upgrades on cargosweeps. I just was wondering about settings waypoint "height", that's all.
