Guest RAC Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 Read some pretty lame "reviews" on the EB web page. Amazing how these people can bash a game without ever having played it. I tried to set the record straight but have yet to see my reply posted there. They say it takes 2-3 days so we'll see. One guy criticized the demo by saying he flew straight ahead for 12 minutes without encountering anything. Is he serious? It's called realism. I doubt galactic war consists of battles every two minutes. Anyway. It just bugs me.
Supreme Cmdr Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 It should be posted soon. It takes some time to post/delete reviews. Some idiot blatantly posted crap, using the name (Mark Stryker) of one of my characters in the game. Go figure.btw. we already have a thread about this somewhere. Please refrain from creating dupes. If you are looking for a particular topic you can't find, do a search first.
SpotSD Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 Sorry for posting here, but what is the link to the reviews on the EB web page?
Epsilon 5 Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/editorial/revie...&popf_id=199503 The B.A.D one is ridiculous.
Epsilon 5 Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 Hey, after all this time, I've think there are 3 types of people toward BCM. The comments confirm it.1 - The lover. We are all lovers here (mostly), they like the game, feel it's the way to go, and will do anything to have THE game. Some will even defend the game.2 - The hater. Commonly called the detractor. Think it sucks, and also that it sucks, but don't forget that it sucks. Pong is better. Will do anything to say it sucks, and hunt all those that don't say the game sucks. Always get side-tracked and talks about Derek's personal life. Some will use the l33t language.3 - The indifferent. think the game has interesting ideas, but lacks in many domains. Will post a few constructive comments, but will probably not play the game, only the demos. Most of them shut up because they don't want to have the detractors hunting them.[ 07-13-2001: Message edited by: Epsilon 5 ]
thanatos Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 quote:Some will use the l33t language E-5: I hate to have to continously exhibit my ignorance, but what is "elle thirty-three tee" language?
Guest Mikel Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 thanatos: l33t (1337) stands for "elite". Usually used by wanna-be hackers, some gamers, and jokes. l33t language just replaces letters with numbers (ie Dude is |)00|)). There are many forms of it, from ones that replace as many letters as possible to ones just replace some.
Epsilon 5 Posted July 13, 2001 Report Posted July 13, 2001 l33t is a "vocal" language. You can't really translate the writings with a program. When you know thew basics, you need to read the text at high-voice and then you'll understand.Currently, I only use the "w00t" word stands for Whoohoo! I think.
Guest RAC Posted July 17, 2001 Report Posted July 17, 2001 Did a search and couldn't find a previous thread like this. Sorry if this is a dup but my first preview is up on the EB website. There's another to follow as soon as they post it. Just couldn't let the malcontents get away with it.[ 07-16-2001: Message edited by: RAC ]
