Guys I am new to posting on this site but not New to this site. I have a confession to make. I have not played BC3000 but I am already hooked on BCM. I put my $10 down back in April when they told me it would be out in May (which by the way SC I know it ain't ready, no complaints from me) I am anxiously waiting the release of this game but I do have some questions. Yes I read the instrction manual from the original and every interview/preview I could get my hands on but I do have some questions that maybe someone could answer.

If you start as a cmdr you pick a ship (i think) can you ever buy a new ship?

Can carriers hold more then 4 fighters?

Can you command fleets?

Maybe these were already answered before and if so I appologize for repeating but any responses would be appreciated.

Oh and by the way SC thanks for making this game it has everything I always wanted (not being linear, do what you want) I think its great (and no im not kissing ass, just merely patting it)

Thanks for the info so once you pick a ship your stuck with it untill you die?

where do you get the info on how many fighters a carrier can hold at one time or how many ships you can command in a fleet?

There is a pack of appendices to the manual of BC3K. One of them holds the craft statistics and another holds the statistic on stations and bases. DO realise that that info is likely not to apply to BCM as it could cause(/has caused) playbalancing problems. It's just to get an idea of things.

I think it's unlimmited, how large your fleet can be. They are not really assigned to you. You can launch them from a station and they just take your command orders. ANY craft that caries the same race/caste designation will take your order. Do they execute it like you want it? That's quite another.

My Brother in arms is right , you get the idea by looking at BC3K appendix (you can dl it from here even if don't have the game, but why not dl the whole game 'cause it's free now), some things are the same but some has changed.

I do have 2 questions too:

Do you still have 8 pilots if you have more than 4 fighters? (e.g. a Firestorm has 6 fighter)

If you still have 8 pilots, what's the purpose of having more than 4 fighters?

E5:

Not all fighters require 2 crew members.

He is a sneaky one, he wants to have fighters continuously ready. The damaged one comes in, put the pilots in the ready one, and while it's fighting rearm/repair the old one and bam, you got a fresh fighter on your hands, ready to replace the next damaged one. What I think is instead of having 4 fighters, it would be great to have lets say 16 figters but only 4 fighter launch bays and one big bay for rearm and repairs. That way you can have a limit on fighter launch/retrieve ops and have some extra fighters to rotate in place of the damaged ones. Makes sence to me, but it's SC's game so don't think I am making any demands or anything, just rambling.

So it seems to me that the maximum amount of fighters at any one given time is 8. All I know is that Im playing X-wing Alliance (again) and am tired of being set through a linear campaign. Can't wait for the game SC.
