Guest Hellbinder[CE] Posted July 27, 2001 Report Posted July 27, 2001 Ill start out...Ok so im in my BC and finally figured out that if you set the CC to Patrol, and turn on the auto pilot, you actually wont nose dive into the ground when switching to Tacops...ok great....Im rollin now!So there im am flying through the clouds of Firestar, enjoying the view. I think "hey I think ill jump on a fighter and go wiz banging around! cool" Having no fear of crashing to my doom, I switch to Tacops and look for a cool place to go. there, thats the place... Great so now all I have to do is move the pilot out of FC1 and insert the commander(me). This is SOOOOO AWESOME!!! No problem, Ill be out zipping along the coastline in no time. Back to bridge... "hmm I wonder if I should land the BC first, just in case there is a problem"... Ok, What was that command I saw to do AI asisted landing??? It was like Shift-somthing.....What was it? Oh yeah it was like shif-E or H or Q......""""OH MY GOD I JUST TURNED OFF THE POWER!!!!!!!!! IM PLUMMITING TO MY DOOM"""" Turn on power FAST! Still crashing.... OH FRIK I HAVE TO TURN OFF AP!!!! "im sorry the Commander is not on the bridge" HOLY_#%&* No time no time, THATS IT! I'll just launch the FC1, the crew will die but at least ill live!. "im sorry you need power to the launch bay" WHAT THE &*#$%&!!!!! OH *&%$# ....only one thing left to tryCommander to the bridge!! COMMANDER TO THE BRIDGE!!!!!! Here comes the ground AGGGHHHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhgggghghhghghgh [static]Yes this game is just Loads and LOADS of fun for newbies!
Supreme Cmdr Posted July 27, 2001 Report Posted July 27, 2001 ROTFLMAO!!!If you checked the VCF, I recently changed that function. It used to do exactly what you described, but only for fighters. I have now extended it so that it is supported in the command craft (CC) as well.To leave your CC and go wandering about, do this: Find a good place to land. And land. Try NOT to land on the coastline because in some areas, it is so shallow, that it may look like solid ground, but then you land, and discover that you landed in a shallow area...and your ship starts to sink. Once you land, give the CC the HALT command (from the System Menu) and then turn on the A/P. This way, it won't go anywhere when you leave. Now send your AE to the desired fighter and launch as normal, once he gets to it (you can track this in PerScan) btw, I think I explained this in the demo readme which is included in the E2 demo.
Papi Posted July 27, 2001 Report Posted July 27, 2001 ROFL..*gag* you're killing me!There's a lot more to come, believe me
