Hi. I just recently found out about BCM, and it sounds like the perfect game! But I'm wary about preordering it from www.ebgames.com because the release date keeps moving. Do they keep making mistakes about when it's going to be released, or is there something delaying the release?

Thanks!

Since you're new, I'll take the honor of repeating the SC's allmighty words: It's done when it's done, and right now it aint done.

There is a lot on the line with this game and the SC is making sure its as perfect as technically possible. Thus, "soon" would be the most appropriate release date. When is "soon?" Who knows. Soon.

Oh okay. That's weird then... why would EB put a release date on their site and move it around when there wasn't even one officially?? Maybe they're anticipating it as much as the fans and they think by putting it on the site it will come true...?

Misquoting the SC like that!!

You have commited the unforgivable sin!

The SC famous line is

"It's READY when it's ready, and right now it aint ready"

And yes I know I'm just nitpicking because I'm board. There's no reason to point it out to me

hehe, without a release date, there won't be any pre-orders. Pre-orders are good.

So, go pre-order.

And make no mistake about it, we already know that the pre-orders will eclipse the first production run. And since I get paid every 30-days, I won't be mastering any new units until EB actually pays.

Why am I telling you this? Well, if you don't pre-order, you will NOT be able to get the game when it comes out. Period. You'd have to *gasp*, wait until the next production run. So, don't be surprised when you get back ordered, if you wait until the last minute. I'm not in the financial position to manufacture humongous numbers.

You've been warned.

How can you know you'll get more pre-orders than the number of units made in the first production run? Unless you've already sold out...?

btw, I think it's amazing that the President of a software company actually communicates with his fanbase. I don't see any other companies doing that!

Because he can safely manufacture the appropriate number of units when the game goes "gold".

He can't be sold out yet due to the fact that he hasn't finished the game.

President? huh? how about, owner, chief developer, main programmer, CEO, Human Resources manager, Publisher, webmaster, forum chief, basically the be all and end all of 3000AD, if he goes out and gets hit by a truck, IT'S OVER!!!!

So, we need to build him a big rubber walled room, fully grounded computers, make sure that he wants for nothing, we make sure that he never needs to go anywhere and therefore endanger himself, we can take no chances with the SC!!! He MUST be protected!!! lol

Yeah, right, sure thing, just remember SC, you must protect yourself and be safe, we're all counting on you!!!

And yes, to have the main man actually talk to us is amazing, but us oldtime hardcores BC fanatics have come to expect it, see SC, we're spoiled!!! and it's ALL your fault!!

but no, seriously, thats a scary thought though, ain't it?

Yes, seriously it is a VERY scary thought, even if you get appendicitus or something, developement goes on hold until you get back, time to get an apprentice oh Obi Wan!!

One who can continue your work against the dark side,(publishers, boring shortlived games etc..) I wish you luck in finding one!!

But seriously, it is dangerous to have just one person who controls everything and knows everything, because if you go down, everything goes down. It is faster, and MUCH more efficient, but you need redundancy in any company.

Actually, we need to make a clone of you, but then, you'd make yourself crazy!! lol

Man, if I had to work with me every day, I would probably shoot myself, the clone that is!!! because if I shot my clone, I'd be shooting me, right? hmm, I'll leave that one to the philosophers.

Anyway, point made!! lol

Ok, Wraith, establish a security perimeter around his house, ISS, check the supermarket and Orion will escort the SC in all his movements.

The insurgency can go on permanent patrol around the city.

We traders can resupply him, so there is no need for him to go outdoors

I'm creating my own fleet to help the SC, I'll call it the Janitorial Fleet. Our mission to make sure the trash is taken out, the floor be swept and our most sacred mission making sure the water in the SC's crapper is blue!!!

Cmdr. MG: Mr. Clean set a course for the Throne Room, and get a Plunger stat!!!

Mr. Clean: Aye, Aye sir.

Cmdr. MG: Oh My God! It's a unit of Klingons (scratches head in disbelief) How'd they get here from ST?

Lt. Lysol: Shields up, Incoming!!!

Geez, one comment and look what happens to this thread!!! Damn!! ROFLMAO

and that Janitorial fleet ain't a bad thought, I would really hate to have fozen sewage hit the windshield of my BC, yuch.

Sir, we have been hit, and are leaking atmosphere.

What hit us?

Well, the Dark Saber was just off the bow and before going hyper they unloaded thier sewage, hit the marine quarters. We've lost 3 marines and 7 are injured.

damn, killed in the line of duty I guess, yeah, we'll write it that way.

LOL
