BCM is a great game... all of us know that.. but the thing is all of us are still a fraction of the amount of people who would love the game if they knew about it. The more people who buy BCM, the more money for SC (which he deserves) and the more money SC can use for future development of games. Basically I figure that if each one of us just spread (by word of mouth) the news about BCM people will be interested. I know this is not the most effective sort of advertising. But it's free...So what I am trying to say is... spread the word about BCM as much as you possibly can...(Just an Idea... What do yall think)
R_wilco Posted August 27, 2001 Report Posted August 27, 2001 I actually have tried to, on other message boards, but as soon as they read the words,"3000ad", or "Derek Smart", they immediately get turned off by the game by the past history of the BC series.One person even said that SC flames people that ask for help! Can you believe that??

Over at www.tauniverse.com I posted some snippets of the latest Dev diary and a link to the BCM features page and I got positive feedback. And hopefully by the time they discover who's making it and that it's the sequel to 3000ad they be intrigued enough to at least download the demo and make their own opinion.

Instead of actualy THINKING for themselves. Heck I bet more then 95% of the people who flaim 3000ad haven't even tried it. And I bet a good 65% of them would have liked it if they had. kalniel Posted August 28, 2001 Report Posted August 28, 2001 I can only speak of my own experience - 3 days ago I'd never heard of anything to do with battlecruiser. Then I see the pre-order thing on EBgames and initially don't think much, but at the back of my mind I'm thinking "is this the space sim I've been looking for since elite?" So I try and find links for more info. I can't find any so I use a search engine and the first thing I get is a review of the 1996 thing and a score of 2.7 or something. I persist and get to the 3000ad homepage. Now I'm hooked and really really hope that something will be sorted for the UK. Ever since Elite on the BBC the UK has been dying for something like BCM.As for publicity, it took me a while before I found out much information, and I also got confused with the previous games. Maybe more elite and other space sim fans can be drawn into the excitement?Kalniel
