1. First off Sc are you the ONLY one still working on this if so wow....thats incredible!..

We won't eat you, JJ. You're the new marine recruit in Orion, right? Then good.

At least you're getting yourself acquainted with the game universe, and everyone else here.

1. He's got a team around the globe, working along with him. Of course, he's doing most of the coding himself, so it truly is his game.

2. In a Fleet, you may get a ship assigned, or your FC may be nice enough to ask your preference, and check their available resources. (But, you ain't gettin a StormCarrier...) As far as I know, you get a ship assigned, in Single Player.

Nova, If you answer Q#2 by what the demo does, do remember that that are instant action missions, not Roam. ROAM(freeflight) wouldn't be as free as it was intended when you got your ship assigned by the game. Ofcourse, whatever ship you get is based on what's available at a station/base. And that, is like Nova said, based on your race/caste too. Stormcarriers are for Gammulans only, and trader stations don't need BCmk2s and the sorts. That last one is my opinion, but I'm sure the SC's too.

  1. As of now, yes. The rest of the crew already wrapped up their BCM work about two months or so ago and are working on stuff for EFC+GCO. I'm the only one on BCM, wrapping it up, doing whats left etc.

  2. The others have already answered

Dunno of all the ways, but I think you can hitch a ride from one of your buddy pilots.

Using IDP pads in single/multi player. You don't see it in the VCF because I commented it out because I am not sure whether it will be in the first version or not. If you download the current VCF, you should see the entry commented out, just above the 2.3.09.04 entry.

Here is easy, for the lazy:

Implemented InterDimension Jump, IDP, technology. This works similar to existing jump technology. It allows you to hop from one IDP pad to another, within the same planet. In debug mode, you can hop to IDP pads on any planet in the galaxy. When you enter an IDP pad, a menu consisting of the valid IDP locations, pops-up. From here you select the desired destination. After responding to the Y/N prompt, you will be transported there. This tech was implemented because in some career modes (marine), due to the vast planets, there is no way to leave your friendly base to go and attack a hostile one. Even using a vehicle can take too long. With IDP, you can hop from location to location at will. The FP mini hud displays the heading to the closest IDP pad and is shown as an inverted T on the heading scale.

Notes:

  1. IDP pads use derivatives of tech used for the HSD artifact

  2. All mzone scenes have two IDP pads. More will be added for multiplayer, along with portable IDP units

  3. IDP pads cannot be destroyed

  4. You have to be in FP mode for an IDP pad to activate

  5. It doesn't transport crafts or vehicles (only in debug mode) and won't activate

  6. IDP pads are restricted to the current planet (except in debug mode) and only show list of IDP pads on current planet

  7. To prevent abuse (in non-debug mode), (a) you can only use an IDP pad every 15 mins (B) it reduces your LF by 5 units each time you use it.

You can also hitch a ride on vehicles that allow passengers.
