Spuzzum
I'm just curious... has the thought of space creatures ever come up in BC3000/BCM, or is it a foreign concept in a galaxy largely dominated by humanoids?I'm just curious, since it'd be a pretty neat thing to watch a compound being surrounded by alien creatures as the resident marines expend everything they have before being ripped to shreds (er, figuratively, considering there is no blood). Epsilon 5
Space creatures? That would be cool...And as you start killing them Terran/Environmentalists appear...
Spuzzum
Who, in turn, fall readily to streams of IOD fire.
Soback
Yeah, aim for them first, creatures later. What do you think would happen if they would declare the cow endangered and abused because it can't run wild?
XenoZohar
People would laugh and go eat a burger.
cougarxg1
Hmm and this started out as such a good question But anyways... I believe that it would have to be modded in.
Wolferz
While it seems to be an intrigueing idea, we only get the humanoid variety as targets.Let's just leave the bugs to the Starship Troopers. Besides, we found and the SC squashed the majority of the bugs during beta testing. Now where are those cows? I'm hungry.
cougarxg1
I think an intuitive modder could do it with a model switch
Epsilon 5
Are space anomalies the bugs of the real universe? (considering there are... )
Rico Jansen
Why are you mentioning them to me, Spuzzum? I hate bugs. Eeek! Except for those artificial ones from MIT AI lab. Those are cool.
Real_Lucas
LOLhe's referring to a line in Starship Troopers.
tfuller
I remember an 8-bit Nintendo space trade/adventure game (name???) where you could capture alien lifeforms and sell to starbases. The further the starbase, the more valuable. It would be cool in an add-on if the planets had alien wild life, some hostile, some tame.Could this be a possibility? XenoZohar
StarFlight was a PC game, then was ported to Genesis. Great game, by the way.I want to shoot bugs with my bugnor! Let me reenact Ender's Game with a bug planet and the RANDOM!
jstuart
Starflight was a old PC game, actually around 1984 or 1985 I believe. Also made it to CGW Hall of Fame. I don't recall if it made it to Nintendo!
Guest
I loved Starflight, which I think is where Spuzzum got his name, from the little slug dude. Also, just finished rereading Enders Game, Enders Shadow and the shadow of the Hegemon. Excellent books!! Excellent!!Anyway, of too get some work done!!
tfuller
Starflight, that's it. I must have played it on the Genesis. Had some really cool concepts that would be great to see re-visited.
Soback
I played Starflight on Genesis, still have the system and the game.
Urza
Yeah, I've played Starflight. Never finished it, though.I also noticed it had an uncanny resemblance to Star Control 2. Anyone who's played both games would probably notice.
XenoZohar
Anyone interested in selling the Genesis StarFlight? I'd rather not have to go to ebay to find it, and I've been dying to play it for a while. (emulation is bad, mkay?)
Badgerius
I think Spuzzum's named after a tiny little town near where we live. Beyond Hope on the way to Hell's Gate, that's where Spuzzum (population 7) was, before it burned down last year.
