I just purchased BCM from EB. It was the first time in months that I have payed full price for a PC game. I knew what to expect, and it surpasses expectations. Technology has caught up with the vision of BC3K, which now sports a clean interface, as well as thorough printed documentation.

I know several products are being developed to supplement and expand BCM. However, I would like to make a suggestion. The military aspects of BCM have been virtually perfected. Now, some extra attention is needed to non-military careers. How about single-pilot command craft for trading and mercenary work, like in Privateer, Elite, and X-Tension? This could be enhanced with mercenary missions (destroy X enemies, intervene for base defense, transport a VIP, etc.) and optional hirelings for individual missions such as in Privateer 2.

Also, it would be nice if a Terran marine or planetary defense pilot could purchase a guild membership in order to switch castes. That way, an intrepid, ambitious marine could work his way into becoming a trader.

I know BCM does not pretend to be an Elite clone, but it would be another step towards building a dynamic universe where a player can be a cog of any size, pardon the cliche.
