Guest JuanFermin Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 I sent one of my Shuttle crafts to Earth to pick up some mining drones and it was hit by enemy fire. The Navigational computer on it blew up and it ended up landing in water not too far from the coast. Video display showed it floating in water, so I figured I'd send one of my other shuttles to tow it back. Now I have 2 shuttles floating. I figured the shuttles were not strong enough to tow in gravity, so I figured I'd have to land there myself. My NAV officer got a little confused, since I've never taken the ship on a planet fall and was going in at way to steep an incline with not nearly enough speed, so I figured I'd help out and go Manual, well I thrust the stick back a bit too fast and the engines cut out on my. So here I am in a free fall in Earths atmosphere wondering how am I going to get the engines back on. I tried turning them on and off a couple of times, tried switching the Autopilot a couple of times, nothing. Finally, I launched a shuttle to try to tow me, but just before the tractor beam enganged, the engines came back on! Problem was the shuttle wouldn't let go, wouldn't come back to base and ended up towing me to a firey crash into the mountains. How do I disengage the towing? Or should I have just blown away the shuttle?
IceCold Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 To disengage tow: Go to the craft's orders menu. Select tow then "nothing(disable)" this will release the AI tractor beam. By the Way, Cool avatar
Guest JuanFermin Posted January 24, 2003 Report Posted January 24, 2003 Thanks, it's the new box for BCMG, I can't wait until it comes out.
