About switching ships

Sorry if this has been talked about before (I am fairly certain it has), but I am not able to find it.

I started a new career last nite (using BCMG) as a Commander of a Cruiser. BUT...I need to know: Is it possible to get a different ship (say a Carrier) a little later in the game? Or am I only going to be able to use the Cruiser in this particular game?

Again, if this has been asked (or in the wrong forum), sorry...just would like to know before i really go on with this current game...

nevermind...i think i finally found the answer....and i think the answer is no....unless i missed something else somewhere....

From what I understand, you will have to wait for Battlecruiser Generations to be able to change your ship.

Yep. You can't change your career, race, caste, ship, and ship name in the game. One you've chosen, that's it.

BCG should have that capability, with some sort of restrictions, of course. Can't make the game blatantly easy now, can we?

Cant you Exit your ship and Dock your AE with another Disabled ship? then comand the first one threw tacops? Seems like that would work to PIRATE a Ship. Haven't tried it to eager with the laser blow them up and steal the cargo. I wanta Get a fleet going without EP.

If one of your own ships becomes disabled, you can do this, just remember to have someone available to pilot the shuttle once you leave it. However, you can't take control of an enemy ship this way.

Doomed to be fleetless. Its WORTH THE BLOODSHED. Well its like they* always say "you want a job done right do it yourself" (which is what makes the ship changing ability so great, you can do it yourself). Plus as a RAIDER ive made it very successful just by myself.
