Falstaff Posted May 28, 2003 Report Posted May 28, 2003 I have BC3000 and loved it. I had to uninstall it, however, when I upgraded to Windows 2000pro for business reasons. I just recently got BCMG and it works wonderfully. I love it! But one of the differences I've noticed is great. Bases are actually bases and they can't be trifled with. Awesome. In the old game I could hyper in, take some potshots with missiles, etc and then hyper out when the engines reloaded. I tried that the other day.....I was blown away before my ship had fully exited hyperspace. So I sat around and watched some hostiles attack GalcomHQ. Each time they made a b-line for the base I would get a closeup view on them. It was like watching somebody take a sandblaster to a soup-cracker. Neat. I sleep better at night knowing I'm docked at a nigh-invulnerable base.
sebby13 Posted May 30, 2003 Report Posted May 30, 2003 Actually, the Galcom base in BCM can easily be destroyed, the only reason you were destroyed is you either gave the order to attack the base or had the base as a target waypoint when you hit the autopilot. Just go up to the base without targeting it or giving your ship orders to and blast it to pieces, it won't even open fire, I garantee it!
Falstaff Posted May 30, 2003 Author Report Posted May 30, 2003 Maybe it is easily destroyed by a player.. But I saw lots of lemmings throwing themselves off the cliff at it if you catch my drift. They wouldn't even get out of hyper.
