In the running for the simpleton of the year award

I have only just started playing Battlecruiser Millenium Gold and I am at a loss, I start a new game as a space fighter or marine and all I can do is roam and I can not obtain a mission.

Am I missing something? (be nice I a newbie!)

Any help would be appreciated.

To answer your question I believe the commanders career is the only thing that can use the acm/campaign option.

Like jamotto said. Commanders are the only career for missions. But if you enjoy the FP mode you can always exit you CC with ALT+E
