So, there's no way to train marines that don't involve risking their lives and having to recruit more FNG's (Friggin' New Guys)?

I still say cloaking your CC and going down there *if your a carrier* is MUCH MUCH easier.. Did that to, 4 Insurgent base's. I ran out of Cloaking fuel on the 4th one and took a direct hit to my hanger.. lukcy for me it was only down to 40%

I never tried marine deployment.. all my marines are dumb.. time for me to train them =)

Training? Who needs training I say send them down there and pray they dont shoot themselves the ones who last 5 minutes in combat get beamed up theres your training!

As for cloaking and taking out a base that way if youve got fleet C&C its much more fun to order 4 or 5 ships to escort your ship and fly down to the planet and let the fighting begin!

btw I just got the rank Fleet Commander... I thought i read somewhere that I get Fleet C&C upon reaching that rank?

You should. if you need to test it go in tacops and select something. i.e. a friendly unit / spacestation, and now a new command menu should open.

There are lots of pre-requisites to getting fleet C&C and which go beyond just getting the required EPs.

Read the manual and the appendix data
