PegasusJF Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 I have a minor question to ask. Is it possible to adjust the settings of the Tac-ops that when you are fully zoomed out in the planet view you can see your units (and perhaps waypoints). I found this when I was deploying mining drones on Mars, but finding it rather difficult to relocate them once I left the second level zoom(by noting the coordinates when I used the zoom-to feature to the units in question and carefully moving the mouse pointer in the general vincinity and zooming in) Thanks PegasusJF
Supreme Cmdr Posted March 25, 2003 Report Posted March 25, 2003 zoom-to/support units/ takes you directly to the unit in question if you are currently observing the planet they are on.

As long as the shuttle is on the planet, you can successfully extract the drone - irrespective of the distance between them.

Read the VCF by searching for "shuttle" HOWEVER, someone reported that if you use the HUD menu that you can still do it. I have not yet reproduced this on my end. Once I do, I will prevent it.

I'm sorry, but I believe that that section of the VCF is incorrect - the problem may have been fixed in RC5, but if so it has been re-introduced at a later release. quote:HOWEVER, someone reported that if you use the HUD menu that you can still do it. I find that I can extract drones and OCs from the other side of a planet or moon either using the HUD menu, or by using waypoints. Would you like a saved game demonstrating this?

Yes, send in a saved game generated from the current build. Also make sure that your email describes exactly what is happening.

Anyway, I have upgraded from 1.08 RC36 to 1.08 using the uninstall/reinstall/patch approach, and confirmed that I can still extract units as described. The saved game should be with you shortly.
