jnewl Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 Hi. I did a search on this and got lots of hits, but when I read them they didn't say a damned thing about a TWI, so I don't know what's going on. My question is: on page 36 of the BCMG manual it says you can use the Track Warning Indicator, TWI, to determine whether or not a selected ground threat can see you on radar or not. But I haven't been able to find any TWI in any of my displays. Is it really just talking about the Track Indicator (TCK) within the Launch Warning Indicator (LWI)?
Supreme Cmdr Posted April 12, 2003 Report Posted April 12, 2003 hehe, so you remembered the question finally! Anyway, the TWI is in the graphic on p24 (look on the lower-left corner) and it is described on p26 When you are on the ground, you will see this symbology as described on p26 The best way to test it is while flying toward a friendly base. Then you can try it on a hostile base. You should also check the appendix (air defense 1/2) for data on the various threat units you are likely to encounter on ingress.
jnewl Posted April 12, 2003 Author Report Posted April 12, 2003 Doh! How did I miss that? I had even read all about it already. I was just not making the connection for some reason. Well, thanks! That clears it up completely.
