Will the game automatically rest my officers for me, or do I have to do it manually? I've been doing it manually, just because I didn't want to wait until they died of exhaustion to find out for sure. Also, I didn't want to risk having a crucial position unmanned if the shit hit the fan. So what I've been doing is docking at a starstation and twiddling my thumbs for a half-hour or so while they rest. Is that the proper method? Am I doing it right?

Also, what happens if a station is destroyed while I'm docked there? The obvious thing? If so, is there any way for me to monitor what's going on outside so I can avoid this?

Thanks.

(Oh, btw. I don't want to start a new thread for this, but are the meters for the PTA and Main Gun supposed to change to reflect the level they're set at? Right now they don't. They always read 100%.)

They'll go off duty on their own and if something critical happens, just order them back on duty.

Nothing, at least not until BCO and then Bad Thingsā„¢ can/might/will happen.

That shows the charge level and not the power level. Place your mouse over the icon to see the power level.

This will only happen in multiplayer. And if it happens, you'll die.

In single player there safeguards against this, in that if this happens, the instruction is held until you actually launch. Then the station is destroyed. You will only take damage if you are within proximity of flying fragments and such.

What Tyrn said. Also see section 4.2 and of course 6.2 of the manual.

I have to remember that we're dealing with MP here.

Yeah, I did that to prevent people from hugging a station and never re-launching. In fact, in a future update, I'm probably going to have the station force launch station huggers who have docked from more than a certain period of time.

John Doe:

...nyeh, nyeh, I ain't launching until you high EP count bastards leave the region. I've been here for twenty mins already and I ain't leaving.

Station NPC:

....thats what you think.

The only warning you get is the hanger bay door being blown away and your precious ship being pulled into space

Yeah, but what if I want to setup a server and keep a persistent game running. I can leave the ship in the station while I'm off to work, but if you disable that, I won't be able to... but then again, I guess I could leave my BC in Search and Destroy mode.

*cracks whip* no rest!!!! back to work you scurvy lubbers!!! i usually work mine till their ff hits like 75% and their HF is at about 650... usually it wont kill them... just drop their LF to about ohhhh 80% or so. then ill park the beast on a moon, turn off the engine, and go take a nap. by the time im awake, everyones rested and fed.

and no station hugging... may you be eternally blessed SC. one thing i hate is people who hang around and hide inside something that cant be destroyed. rearm and refuel i can understand perfectly, but dont troll around the damn thing.
